Qualifications

Current or eligible license in the state of practiceGraduate of an accredited occupational or physical therapy program

DESCRIPTION

Plans, manages and evaluates the programs and staff of the rehabilitation departmentResponsible for attending facility meetings such as stand-up, Medicare, care planning and others with approval of Director OperationsResponsible for the daily operations of the rehabilitation department, which includes, but not limited to the following items:Ensure appropriate and adequate staffing at all timesMonitor admissionsAssign new evaluations and screensDevelop treatment schedulesMaintain staff utilizationCase managementCompletion of screeningTracks & documents MDS assessment periods and dataEnsure staff compliance and utilization of all automated therapy management toolsAll other required duties as designated by the Director of OperationsMonitors & assists with personnel compliance standards including required credentials, corrective actions and improvement plansManagement of cost and fiscal growthAssists in recruitment, hiring and retention of therapy staffNew staff training and orientationCompletion of documentation and chart auditsIdentifies program development needs of the individual community and implements appropriate programmingPromotes positive employee to employee and employee to facility relationsSets and implements departmental goals and objectives, guidelines, policies & procedures relative to the functioning of the departmentComplete all other tasks that are deemed appropriate for the role and assigned by the manager/supervisorREQUIRED SKILLSExcellent communication skills both verbal and writtenKnowledge of therapy software/EMRAbility to effectively multitask in order to simultaneously execute multiple projectsAbility to maintain professionalism in all situationsPeople managementPDPM knowledgeMedicaid case mix knowledgePhysical Demands: Required to perform a variety of duties relative to the job, some of which require a moderate to heavy category of physical demand
