**JOB DESCRIPTION**
The Director of Partner Management is responsible for managing a team of colleagues to deepen card acceptance in Mexico through third party partnerships under the OptBlue and Aggregator models. The role leads a team of 10 Amex Colleagues.
The incumbent will lead the third-party acquiring partnerships team in:
+ Analyzing the market to identify potential third-party acquirers, liaising with Merchant Acquisition teams to establish partnerships.
+ Effectively engaging with acquiring partners, with the aim of deepening relationships that generate strategies to deliver value for both American Express and partner.
+ Leading the analysis of opportunities and defining a robust strategy to deepen partner relationships that will ensure American Express is available as a payment method across all of the partner’s products (e.g., POS, contactless, e-commerce).
+ Leading the analysis to devise tactical strategies to manage the sponsored merchant engagement funnel, ensuring enablement, engagement, welcomed
+ Acceptance and activation to maximize Cardmember POC and maximize business volume.
The incumbent also leads the relationship with internal partners: Global Acquiring Capabilities, Compliance, OE, Marketing, PCG, Pricing, GCO, GSG, among others.
**Qualifications**
+ A minimum of 10 years of experience in payments industry including experience building high performance teams.
+ Proven strategic thinking and financial/analytical acumen.
+ Demonstrated commercial experience and team leadership for design and execution of winning strategies.
+ Extensive negotiation experience and relationship management skills of external partnerships.
+ Ability to build strong Blue Box linkages at all organizational levels and across multiple functions.
+ Ability to lead work within a fast-paced team environment and deliver results under pressure.
+ Problem solving and decision-making ability.
+ Bilingual (English/Spanish)
