Director of Operations

Our client, a leading manufacturing organization specializing in highly regulated environments such as medical devices and aerospace, is seeking a Director of Operations to join their team. As a Director of Operations, you will be part of the Operations Department supporting the Minnesota facility. This site supports highly regulated medical device and aerospace customers, with approximately 70% of production tied to medical device programs. Operations include plastic injection molding, secondary processes, and full assembly.

Location: Vadnais Heights, MN 55110

Pay Range: $175,000 - $205,000 + Bonus

What's the Job?

Lead all operational activities at the Minnesota facility, including molding, production, scheduling, maintenance, and assembly functions. Establish, monitor, and drive key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics to ensure continuous improvement. Improve throughput, on-time delivery, reduce scrap, and optimize cost performance across the site. Stabilize and rebuild operational structures following leadership transitions and quality challenges. Foster a culture of accountability, communication, problem-solving, and proactive escalation to ensure operational excellence.

What's Needed?

Extensive experience in plastic injection molding within highly regulated manufacturing environments, such as medical device or aerospace industries. Proven track record of leading turnaround or underperforming facilities to improved operational performance. Strong background with ERP systems; experience with Epicor is a plus. Hands-on, floor-driven leadership style with the ability to be present, visible, and actively engaged on the shop floor. Experience in secondary processing or assembly operations. Ability to operate with urgency, set clear priorities, and influence stakeholders including executive leadership.
