4 Year Degree The Director of Marketing & Multimedia provides strategic leadership, vision, and operational oversight for all NJCAA marketing, communications, branding, digital media, and multimedia initiatives. This role is responsible for setting association-wide marketing and multimedia strategy while directly managing staff and operations that support NJCAA championships, member institutions, student-athlete recognition, historical records, streaming, and digital storytelling. The Director oversees the Marketing & Communications Manager, Multimedia Manager, and related staff, ensuring cohesive messaging, brand consistency, high-quality multimedia production, and effective engagement across all NJCAA platforms.

Duties and Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Department Oversight

•Provide strategic direction for all NJCAA marketing, communications, branding, multimedia, and digital content initiatives. •Oversee daily operations of the Marketing, Communications, and Multimedia functions, ensuring alignment with NJCAA mission, values, and long-term strategic goals. •Work with NJCAA national office leadership team and advise executive leadership on marketing, media, and brand strategy. •Work with VP for Marketing, Multimedia, Partnerships and Community Outreach to develop annual goals, performance metrics, workflows, and budgets for the department.

Staff Supervision & Development

•Directly supervise the Marketing & Communications Manager and Multimedia Manager, with oversight of all staff within the division. •Lead staff development, performance evaluations, training, and succession planning. •Foster a collaborative, innovative, and service-oriented team culture.

Marketing, Communications & Branding

•Work with VP on all association-wide communications, including press releases, feature stories, national rankings, awards announcements, and championship communications. •Ensure consistent brand identity, licensing, and marketing standards across all NJCAA departments, championships, and member interactions. •Direct social media strategy across main NJCAA accounts and sport-specific platforms. •Guide website content strategy, messaging, and digital engagement initiatives.

Multimedia, Streaming & Digital Content

•Assist with oversight of championship streaming, production logistics, and broadcast partnerships, including coordination with PrestoSports, ESPN, contracted broadcasters, and production teams. •Assist with NJCAA Network strategy, including scheduling, production quality, graphics standards, and storytelling approach. •Guide development of video content including live broadcasts, highlights, features, motion graphics, and promotional materials. •Ensure appropriate maintenance, investment, and use of multimedia and production equipment.

Championships & Event Support

•Coordinate marketing, communications, and multimedia efforts for NJCAA district tournaments and national championships. •Identify broadcast talent (play-by-play/color) for fall, winter, spring championships. •Serve as a national office representative at championship events as needed. •Assist with collaboration between championship hosts, communications staff, and multimedia teams to ensure seamless execution when needed.

Data, History & Records Oversight

•Oversee association statistical reporting, rankings processes, and by-law enforcement related to statistics. •Maintain NJCAA historical archives, including record books, awards, rankings, drafted players, and championship history.

External Relations & Media

•Serve as a media contact for the NJCAA. •Support partnerships with media outlets, sponsors, broadcasters, and external organizations. •Ensure professional representation of the NJCAA brand across all external communications.

Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree strongly preferred in communications, marketing, multimedia, journalism, sport management, or a related field. Significant professional experience in sports marketing, communications, or multimedia, preferably within intercollegiate athletics. Demonstrated experience managing staff, complex workflows, and large-scale projects. Strong command of Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, social media platforms, video production tools, and digital publishing systems. Working knowledge of live streaming and broadcast production platforms (e.g., Tricaster or similar systems). Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong leadership, organization, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities. Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines, particularly during championship seasons.
