Director of IT
Job Description Insight Global's client is a top private equity firm that supports companies in markets such as consumer products, commodity-based manufacturing, energy services, business services, healthcare, financial services, energy transmission, and many other areas. We are seeking a Director of IT to support their internal IT as they seek to support their end users as well as advance their company technologically. Cybersecurity & Risk Governance (Key Focus) Serve as the firm’s cybersecurity lead, responsible for policies, frameworks, and incident-response readiness. Full accountability for cybersecurity design, execution, and incident response. Conduct and oversee risk assessments, penetration testing, and employee awareness training. Ensure compliance with SEC and other applicable standards for private equity and financial services firms. Lead employee security training, phishing simulations, and enforcement of security controls. Directly administer and secure the Microsoft 365 environment, including: Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) – identity architecture, MFA, conditional access, privileged access, role-based controls Microsoft Intune – endpoint management, device compliance, configuration profiles, patching, and mobile-device management Microsoft Defender (Endpoint, Identity, Office 365) or equivalent security tooling Ability to troubleshoot complex M365, identity, and endpoint security issues directly when required. Design and enforce least-privilege access models across users, devices, and applications. Technology Leadership Act as the firm’s primary IT advisor to senior leadership, ensuring technology decisions support long-term scalability, security, and efficiency. Develop and manage the annual IT budget and oversee all hardware, software, and network resources. Infrastructure & Operations Management Oversee the full technology environment—including network architecture, cloud services, data storage, telecommunications, and endpoint management. Manage the firm’s outsourced IT managed service provider (MSP) and ensure optimal delivery of help desk, infrastructure, and system-monitoring services. Establish and maintain high standards for system uptime, incident response, and user satisfaction. Maintain and periodically test business continuity, backup, and disaster-recovery procedures. Applications & Data Management Oversee all enterprise and investment applications, including DealCloud, iLevel, Intralinks, Box, Microsoft 365, and accounting or HRIS platforms (e.g., Investran, WorkForce Now). Ensure systems are integrated for seamless data flow and accurate firm-wide reporting. Enforce data-protection, encryption, and retention standards. Lead initiatives around data governance, analytics, and automation, with a view toward AI-enabled efficiencies. Vendor Oversight & Partnership Management Manage all technology vendors, contracts, and renewals, including MSP, cybersecurity partners, and software providers. Hold outsourced partners accountable to service-level agreements (SLAs) and performance metrics. Ability to validate controls independently rather than relying solely on vendor assurances. Coordinate technology procurement, licensing, and asset-management processes. Skills and Requirements - 10-12+ years of experience - Excellent cyber security experience – thought leader around cyber - Firewalls, WiFi and network switches, SIEM, etc. - White collar environment (finance firms, consulting, hedge funds, family offices, boutique consulting services, etc.) - Strong understanding M365, Defender, Intune, configuring these applications - Excellent time management skills and ability to provide white glove service to high level executives - Bachelor’s degree - Ability to be onsite 4 days week in Midtown Manhattan and 1 day remote, working from 9-5:30 but must be available for support on an as needed basis for urgent requests - Experience with specific enterprise and investment applications, including DealCloud, iLevel, Intralinks, Box, Preqin, Capital IQ, FactSet - CSA - COMPTIA/Sec- AI knowledge
