Crouse Health is hiring a Director of Information Technology. 

Schedule: Full Time, Days, 8:00am-4:30pm.

Pay Range: $150,000.00 - $175,658.00 / annual

Director of Information Technology Position Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:

Develops and executes the hospital’s IT strategy and roadmap in alignment with organizational goals and healthcare industry best practices. Serves as a trusted advisor to executive leadership on technology strategy, digital transformation, cybersecurity risk, and emerging technologies. Leads change management efforts to successfully implement and sustain technology initiatives across clinical and non-clinical areas.

Epic System Oversight:

Provides overall leadership and accountability for the Epic Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system and related clinical and revenue cycle applications. Ensures Epic is effectively implemented, maintained, upgraded, and optimized to support patient safety, clinical quality, regulatory requirements, and provider efficiency. Partners with operational leaders to align Epic functionality with clinical and revenue cycle workflows and overall operational needs. Oversees Epic governance, prioritization, change control, testing, training coordination, and post-implementation optimization. Ensures appropriate staffing models, vendor partnerships, and internal expertise to support Epic and other mission-critical clinical systems.

IT Operations & Infrastructure:

Directs day-to-day IT operations, including systems, applications, infrastructure, network, and end-user support. Ensures high availability, performance, and reliability of all clinical and business systems. Oversees cybersecurity, disaster recovery, business continuity, and data protection programs. Establishes and monitors service levels, performance metrics, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Financial & Vendor Management:

Develops and manages the IT operating and capital budgets with strong fiscal accountability. Evaluates, selects, and manages technology vendors and contracts to ensure value, performance, and compliance. Leads technology investment planning to balance innovation, risk management, and cost effectiveness.

Leadership & Talent Development:

Leads, mentors, and develops IT management and staff, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning. Establishes clear goals, performance expectations, and professional development plans for the IT team. Builds a high-performing organization capable of supporting a 24/7 healthcare environment.

Governance, Compliance & Risk Management:

Ensures compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, accreditation standards, and hospital policies, including HIPAA and information security requirements. Establishes governance structures, policies, and controls to protect information assets and ensure data integrity. Maintains current knowledge of healthcare IT trends, regulatory changes, and best practices. Other duties as assigned.

Director of Information Technology Position Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field required. Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. Minimum of 5–7 years of progressively responsible leadership experience in healthcare information technology. Demonstrated experience leading enterprise IT operations in a hospital or health system in a hospital or health system environment. Experience with Epic EMR implementation, optimization, upgrades, or ongoing operational support strongly preferred. Strong leadership, strategic planning, and decision-making skills. In-depth understanding of healthcare information systems, clinical workflows, and EMR platforms (Epic preferred). Proven ability to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Excellent communication, financial management, and relationship-building skills. High level of integrity, accountability, and professionalism.
