Full-time, 40+ hours. An optional transitional pathway may begin with a reduced appointment before transitioning to full-time Director responsibilities.
Job Summary:
The Director of Cobber Kidsprovides overall leadership, administration, and strategic direction for Concordia College’s on-campus early childhood center. This full-time role is responsible for ensuring high-quality programming, regulatory compliance, staff leadership and development, family and community engagement, and the long-term success of the Center.
Cobber Kidsis a licensed early childhood program serving faculty, staff, students, and community families. The Center plays an important role in supporting Concordia College’s mission by providing a safe, developmentally appropriate, and engaging learning environment for children.
Key areas of responsibility include:
+ Program leadership and operational oversight
+ Compliance with Minnesota Department of Human Services licensing requirements
+ Staff supervision, development, and support
+ Family engagement and community partnership
+ Collaboration with campus stakeholders
To support continuity of leadership, Concordia College offers flexibility in how candidates step into this role. While the primary need is for a full-time Director,applicants who would benefit from a supported transition may be considered for a temporary Assistant Director pathway, with a planned transition to full-time Director responsibilities by August 1, 2026. Candidates may apply ready to assume the full Director role immediately or indicate interest in the optional transitional pathway.
For candidates pursuing the transitional pathway, the initial appointment is expected to be approximately 20 hours per week and compensated at an hourly rate of $20.00 to $25.00, with a planned transition to full-time Director status and Director-level compensation.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
+ BS in Early Childhood, Child Development and Family Science or related field
+ Meet MN Department of Human Services licensing standards including background study
+ Proficiency at reading and interpreting laws, regulations and policy
+ Proficient with Outlook, Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Teams etc)
+ Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Experience supervising staff in an early childhood or educational setting
+ Experience in a leadership, administrative, or program management role
+ Accreditation experience
+ Previous childcare classroom experience
+ Experience with administrative systems or CRM tools
