We’re seeking a Director of Process Automation who blends hands on technical depth (RPA, UiPath, Generative/Agentic AI) with proven people leadership experience. You will own the automation strategy, portfolio, and delivery model across BrightSpring’s businesses - driving measurable impact in Pharmacy, Home Health, Hospice, Corporate, and other lines of business.
ResponsibilitiesStrategy & Vision
Define and socialize a multi‑year automation strategy (RPA → Intelligent Document Processing → GenAI & agentic orchestration) aligned to BrightSpring’s clinical, pharmacy, corporate, and operational roadmaps.Stand up and lead an Automation Center of Excellence (CoE): standards, SDLC, reusability, security, self‑healing and resilience patterns, observability, and performance SLAs for bots, automations, and AI agents.Establish intake, prioritization, and portfolio governance that maximize ROI, risk reduction, and time‑to‑value across lines of business.Delivery & Architecture
Architect scalable solutions with UiPath (Studio/StudioX, Orchestrator, Automation Hub, Process & Communications Mining, Document Understanding) or compatible platforms; integrate with EHR/clinical systems, pharmacy platforms, ERP/HRIS, and payor/EDI rails.Build GenAI‑augmented automations (e.g., retrieval‑augmented responses, prompt orchestration, guardrails) and agentic AI patterns (task decomposition, tool use, human‑in‑the‑loop) for complex, multi‑step workflows.Lead hands‑on design/code reviews; create reusable components, connectors, and templates; institute robust exception handling, idempotency, self-healing, and resilience patterns (e.g., automated retries, dynamic rule adaptation, fallback workflows, and human‑in‑the‑loop recovery).Implement end‑to‑end telemetry and bot SRE practices: health checks, tracing, drift detection, and capacity planning.Risk, Compliance & Quality
Embed privacy-by‑design and security-by‑default; ensure adherence to BrightSpring’s enterprise compliance program and healthcare data standards.Maintain rigorous change management, access governance, and auditability for all automations across environments.People & Partnership
Hire, mentor, and develop a high‑performing team of RPA engineers, automation architects, and AI engineers; establish a federated model with “citizen developers” where appropriate.Partner with Pharmacy, Home Health, Hospice, Corporate, and other business units to identify and deliver automation at scale.Collaborate with IT Security, Data/AI, and Product teams to ensure alignment with enterprise architecture and standards. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.15+ years of hands on software/IT development experience with strong proficiency in RPA / Intelligent Process Automation and workflow automation.5+ years of proven people leadership experience.Expert level experience with UiPath (or compatible enterprise RPA platforms) across design, development, Orchestrator, and operations.Demonstrated delivery of GenAI augmented automations (prompt engineering, safety/guardrails, evaluation) in production.Deep understanding of integration patterns (APIs, web services, message queues), error handling, and secure credential management.Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and business case development skills.Preferred Qualifications
Experience applying agentic AI (multi agent orchestration, tool use, autonomous task planning) to enterprise process automation.Healthcare data and interoperability exposure (e.g., HL7/FHIR, EDI/X12, NCPDP) and familiarity with pharmacy operations and medication workflows in long term care, hospice, home infusion, and specialty.Background in automation mining and process intelligence (task/process mining, conversation intelligence) to drive discovery and prioritization.Practical experience with Microsoft Azure (preferred) or compatible cloud platforms (AWS, GCP), including containerized orchestration and DevOps for automation pipelines and Databricks.Working knowledge of HIPAA privacy/security principles and audit expectations.Design and operate self healing bot frameworks that automatically detect failures, diagnose root causes, and recover with minimal human intervention.Certifications: UiPath Advanced RPA Developer, Solution Architect, or equivalent.Program management experience for enterprise automation initiatives.
