The Director of Accounting will lead global accounting operations, ensuring accurate and timely closing of the books and support financial reporting in compliance with US GAAP and local statutory requirements. This is a high impact role that acts as a bridge between the accounting department and its various stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in running accounting operations within a global, publicly traded company, managing and developing teams, handling complex international consolidations, M&A related accounting and integrations, and a deep, hands-on knowledge of Oracle ERP and tools to drive process automation and system optimization.
Key Responsibilities
Manage a team of 9 Direct and Indirect reports in the US managing Consolidations, General Ledger Accounting, Lease Accounting, Americas Payroll and Stock Administration. Month-End Close & Reporting: Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, up to and including account reconciliations and financial reporting deliverables, ensuring accuracy and adherence to strict deadlines. Oversight of International Operations & Global Consolidation: Manage intercompany transactions, foreign currency revaluation and translation, and quarterly balance sheet and income statement reviews for global subsidiaries. Ensure compliance with local regulations and timely closing of international entities.Manage and Optimize Accounting Systems: Lead the Accounting and Finance teams in various Oracle projects including version upgrade, leveraging Oracle to further streamline accounting processes, oversee Coupa and Concur for AP and T&E, E*Trade, ADP and other accounting support systems for continuous improvement.Internal Controls & Compliance: Maintain a robust internal control environment (SOX compliance) for operational and financial processes. Liaise with Internal and External Auditors on all accounting matters.Team Development: Continuously mentor and develop accounting team members to build a best-in-class accounting organization focused on delivering results with maximum accuracy, compliance and business impact. Enable a culture of ongoing professional development to enhance and grow employees’ core competencies.Cross Functional Impact: Represent the corporate controllership organization in special projects and establish strong and effective partnerships with key stakeholders in SEC, IT, FP&A, Tax & Treasury, Internal Audit, Business and other cross functional teams.Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA highly preferred.10+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a management role, in a publicly traded company. Exposure to manufacturing, high-tech and global operations preferred.Strong understanding of US GAAP and SOX compliance.Significant hands-on experience with Oracle ERP (E-Business Suite/Cloud) preferred. Advanced Excel proficiency (pivot tables, complex formulas) and experience with data analysis tools. Experience leading or participating in global transformation projectsAbility to work in a fast-paced environment. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
Annual Salary Range : $190,000—$225,000 USD
