Director - Nursing Administration - Vineland

MAJOR FUNCTION:

Provides direction for nursing departments in accordance with professional nursing standards and requirements of licensing and accrediting agencies. The Director of Nursing (DON) reports directly to the Assistant Vice President of Nursing for specific area of oversight. The DON is responsible for all nursing clinical and administrative operations and the delivery of health care that meets the emerging need for value (cost, quality, and service) and in keeping with Inspira’s Mission, Vision, and Values.  This position requires an effective, productive, and collaborative working relationship with providers, operational leaders, and other departments across the network. Accountable to articulate, uphold and ensure compliance with Department of Health, Det Norske Veritas, NJ Board of Nursing, Nursing Practice Act, Code of Ethics Standards put forth by the American Nurses Association and all accreditation standards. The DON is accountable to uphold regulatory and standards of care applicable to oversight of specialty areas (ED, MCH, Critical Care, Surgical Services, Acute Care Adult services and Behavioral Health).  This position provides leadership and creates an environment of a culture of safety by being an active listener and excellent communicator, therefore, enhancing of a High Reliability Organization and is a role model for Inspira values. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Experience:

Bachelor’s in nursing required. Master's degree in Nursing or Management preferred.                      Five years of nursing experience required with at least two years of experience in one specialty area.  Minimum of three years of nursing management experience required.

Certification/Licensure:    

Licensed as a registered nurse in New Jersey.     Certification in area of specialty preferred.              Physical Requirements:
