What is the opportunity?
Leads a team which is responsible for market data quality, control, scenarios design and ongoing maintenance of the risk factor scenario generation methodologies used for the measurement and capitalization of the market risk and counterparty credit risk of RBC's trading portfolio and selected investment portfolios.
What will you do?
Work closely with business partners across multiple business platforms to review the market data and scenario generation methodology of critical risk factors to help facilitate the business growth while ensuring risk data quality and controls per RBC data and risk management policies.Analyze, design, deliver, and implement analytic development projects within the planned time frame by using RBC’s analytics tools.Communicate deficiencies in risk data and methodologies by documenting gaps, developing solutions, and establishing timelines for remediation.Ensure model limitations and deficiencies are properly documented and remediated by following the approved validation requirements to be compliant with risk data and model governance.Assist in the development, automation of the risk analysis infrastructure, and standardization into End User Computing (EUC) or formal IT systems.Constantly seek out better ways to do things, new tools, new technologies, new processes, such as machine learning tools and AI tools on data quality checking.Work as the lead of an agile team which is responsible for end-to-end delivery of business needs.Must-have
5+ years of working experience in data analysis or quantitative analytics.Experience of managing a team.Broad knowledge of traded products across various asset classes.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent programming skills (e.g., Python/C++/C#).Strong data management and analysis skills (Database and data visualization tools).Ability to work collaboratively to achieve team goals.Agility to adapt to changing circumstances in a dynamic environment.Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal, especially in the explanation of complex modeling concepts to senior management and regulators.Nice-to-have
Experience in a similar roleProficient in building statistical models with complex and large time series datasetsKnowledge of design, development, and implementation utilizing current analytics technologies and architectureRelational database concepts, MS Office Outlook, Word experienceAbility to learn and absorb new concepts (in business and in systems) quickly and apply new knowledgeWhat’s in it for you?
