Director Communications & PR - Sponsorship and Brand Communications

The Director of Communications is responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive communications external communications programs to support AT&T’s broad sponsorship portfolio, including sports and media activations. In addition, this role will work with the Marketing and Brand teams to execute integrated media relations strategies to promote AT&T’s brand to key consumer audiences. **Key Roles and Responsibilities:** **Strategic Development and Execution:** + Develop and execute comprehensive communications programs to obtain earned media results for AT&T’s sports and entertainment sponsorship activations and create integrated programs with paid, social and brand teams. + Create and implement communication strategies to support the major brand initiatives, including the AT&T Guarantee, and other projects + Provide executive and talent support as needed before, during and after sponsorship activations. This includes high-level media relations, crafting messaging and narratives for AT&T’s brand-building and sponsorship activities. **Media Relations and Stakeholder engagement:** + Provide executive-level counsel and support for media engagements and inquiries. + Collaborate with internal teams such as employee communications, advertising, sponsorship, social media, marketing, sales and retail to ensure cohesive and effective communication strategies. + Work with external partners to support the company’s overall priorities with creative media campaigns. **Content Creation and Distribution:** + Develop, review, and distribute a variety of content, including speeches, scripts, press releases, messaging, media statements, and social media content, tailored for external and internal audiences. **Industry and Company Insight:** + Maintain a deep understanding of industry trends, company priorities, issues, and news to enhance communication planning and execution. **Problem-Solving and Analysis:** + Work on complex problems requiring detailed analysis and innovative solutions, collaborating effectively with peers across business units. **Education/Experience:** Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) or advanced degree desired. 10+ years of related experience. **Supervisor:** Yes **Additional Experience:** + Minimum of 10 years of experience in corporate communications, public relations, journalism, or a related field. + Extensive experience in media relations and issues management. + Exceptional writing, editing, and organizational skills. + Proven track record of advising senior leadership on key initiatives and providing strategic recommendations. + Proven ability to independently manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment. + Demonstrated ability to independently manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. + This role is ideal for a dynamic and strategic communications professional with a passion for media relations and telling stories connected to corporate sponsorships.
