The Director of Communications & PR – Media Relations is responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive external communications and media strategies to support AT&T’s connectivity products and services, including 5G and fiber. This position will oversee earned-media efforts for the company’s consumer-facing business in partnership with the marketing and product management organizations.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
Strategic Development and Execution:
Develop and execute comprehensive communications programs to obtain earned media coverage for AT&T’s consumer business.Analyze and confer expertise on tactical communications plans and maintain high-level understanding of industry trends to make appropriate recommendations.Collaborate with internal teams such as employee communications, product management, marketing, sales and retail to ensure cohesive and effective communication strategies.Media Relations and Stakeholder engagement:
Provide executive-level counsel and support for media engagements and inquiries.Build and maintain relationships with reporters and media outlets to tell impactful stories aligned to the company’s goals and objectives.Events and Crisis Management:
Plan and coordinate communications efforts for external and media-facing events as needed to place stories and build relationships.Develop and implement plans to manage and mitigate negative publicity.Lead cross-functional teams in coordinating PR work and manage special projects as needed.Industry and Company Insight:
Maintain a deep understanding of industry trends, company priorities, issues, and news to enhance media planning and execution.Problem-Solving and Analysis:
Work on complex problems requiring detailed analysis and innovative solutions, collaborating effectively with peers across business units.Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) or advanced degree desired. 10+ years of related experience.

Additional Experience:
Minimum of 10 years of experience in corporate communications, public relations, journalism, or a related field.Extensive experience in media relations and issues management.Exceptional writing, editing, and organizational skills.Proven track record of advising senior leadership on key initiatives and providing strategic recommendations.Proven ability to independently manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment.Demonstrated ability to independently manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.This role is ideal for a dynamic and strategic communications professional with a passion for media relations and telling stories connected to corporate sponsorships.Our Director, Communications & PR - Sponsorship and Brand Commnications Manager earn between $143,800 - $215,800 of TSR.
