American Express Global Commercial Services (GCS) is the Global leader in the Commercial Payments Solutions space and continues to be an exciting and fast-growing business. To maintain this success, the organization must accelerate sales and drive profitable charge volume growth. The Global Sales Enablement, Pricing & Transformation (SPT) team within GCS is instrumental in ensuring achievement of these objectives. The Director position within SPT offers you the opportunity to be part of this dynamic organization and help GCS navigate towards growth.
This role is responsible for supporting the GM – International Client Management (CLM) and Business Development (BD), based in London, and will report to the VP – Performance & Insights for G&L.
This role will work collaboratively with the BD and CLM organization to define success metrics, set portfolios, and define targets for a ~250-person segment. The Director will provide strategic analyses and insights on business performance, providing thought leadership to drive business growth. The Director will also partner cross-functionally to lead strategic initiatives from conception to rollout ensuring a clear balance between business growth and colleague experience.
This is an excellent opportunity for an established leader with strong strategic thinking, marketplace knowledge, financial acumen, and project management skills who is comfortable with managing senior partners in a fast paced environment.
How will you make an impact in this role?
+ Focus on strategic thought leadership, including managing segmentation strategy, performance measurement approach as well as ongoing client level insights to drive business growth
+ Lead the management of monthly and annual performance planning and reporting and insights processes to help drive success for the CLM and BD teams.
+ Ensure optimal channel performance through providing proactive business analyses and actionable insights for quick implementation. Champion data driven decision making and collaborate with partners to assess and optimize business performance in a changing business environment
+ Manage relationships with across the International GCG LT to drive success for their organization by means of providing insights that identify pockets of growth that contribute towards the strategy for international.
+ Partner with the P&I Directors responsible for US CLM and US BD team as well as the Executive Reporting function to ensure complete in-sync outcomes between CLM and BD functions across G&L
+ Act as a liaison with numerous teams (Finance, GBS, SFDC etc) to drive innovation, identify and transfer best practices. Drive continuous transformation and automation & process re-engineering
+ Lead a team of B35 colleagues to continue to elevate the support of the International GCG GM
**Minimum Qualifications**
+ 8 years of experience in field performance planning, consulting, corporate finance or related fields preferred
+ Strong grasp of the Global Commercial Services business and industry trends to drive successful go-to-market strategies.
+ Strong commercial acumen with an ability to understand business planning cycles, client/contract management processes, resource planning for field-based teams
+ Ability to adopt a broad perspective, link business strategies to specific initiatives with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
+ Relationship-builder with strong consultative and relationship skills to partner with business leaders to devise solutions to complex business challenges
+ Be an agent of change, providing solutions to address changes in the organization, strategic alignment, and technology implementation. Incorporate risk mitigation into planning and execution
+ Ability to manage multiple and complex work streams and work across departmental boundaries and deliver a diverse set of initiatives that result in transformational outcomes.
+ Proven ability to deliver results in a fast paced and highly matrixed environment
+ Proven ability to attract, develop and lead a high performing and engaged team; ability to manage within a matrixed environment
