Director | Managing Director, Portfolio Management, Private Equity Real Estate
**What You'll Do** We are seeking a Director or Managing Director, Portfolio Management to join our Retail & Residential team. In this role, you will lead our residential portfolio as well as provide additional support for retail investments, guiding portfolio strategy and execution for one of our more complex institutional real estate portfolios, helping maximize performance while aligning with the objectives of a large institutional pension client. This position blends investment judgment, client leadership, portfolio oversight, and leadership, with meaningful influence on strategy, transactions, and long-term portfolio construction. **Strategic Planning & Portfolio Strategy** + Shape and help drive residential portfolio strategy with a secondary focus on retail, and mixed use investments. + Translate strategic direction into executable plans through operating partners and investment structures + Support development of new investment vehicles and structures designed to deliver strong risk-adjusted returns + Procure and negotiate agreements with operating partners, joint venture partners, and institutional counterparties **Portfolio Management & Investment Oversight** + Lead management of a large, complex real estate portfolio + Direct implementation of business plans across residential assets and operating platforms, and support retail initiatives as needed + Review and approve proposed real estate transactions and financial decisions for underwriting consistency, capital requirements, and portfolio fit + Provide input on transaction structuring and pricing, emphasizing portfolio-level impact + Represent the client on management and investment committees **Valuation, Compliance & Reporting** + Partner with internal and external valuation consultants to execute portfolio valuation policy + Ensure consistency, analytical rigor, and compliance with regulatory and audit requirements + Oversee preparation of clear, accurate financial and performance reporting for clients and internal stakeholders **Marketing Representation & Relationship Development** + Represent the firm within the market and broader real estate industry + Build and maintain relationships with residential operating partners, brokers, and key market participants + Maintain strong awareness of residential market conditions and adapt portfolio strategy accordingly **Leadership & Mentorship** + Mentor and develop investment professionals across the team + Promote high standards of analysis, accountability, and collaboration + Contribute to a culture of strong performance and continuous development **Who You Are** **Director, Portfolio Management** + Bachelor’s degree in finance, business or related field; preferably real estate emphasis. + 10+ years of commercial real estate experience, with emphasis in residential portfolio or asset management + Demonstrated experience managing complex portfolios & supporting institutional clients **Managing Director, Portfolio Management** + Bachelor’s degree in finance, business or related field; preferably real estate emphasis. + 15+ years of commercial real estate experience, with deep expertise in residential portfolio and asset management + Proven track record leading portfolio strategy, influencing investment decisions, and serving as a senior client-facing leader **What We’re Looking for at Both Levels** + Experience sourcing, structuring, or managing joint ventures with third-party operators. + Strong background in residential commercial real estate; Retail experience a plus. + Experience in acquisition and/or asset management of a portfolio or portfolio subset. + Excellent client relationships and communication skills, including presenting to institutional investors and consultants. + Deep knowledge of commercial real estate investment strategies and portfolio construction principles + Strong analytical, strategic, and decision-making skills + Leadership capability with experience mentoring and developing high-performing professionals + Willingness to travel frequently to visit assets, markets, and meet with clients and industry partners **Salary Range Information** Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. **Salary Range (Non-Exempt expressed as hourly; Exempt expressed as yearly)** $179000 - $243000 / year **Salary Details** **Compensation** The base salary range for this role is **$179,000 – $243,000** as indicated above. Final compensation will be determined based on skills, experience, and alignment with the role’s responsibilities. In addition to base pay, this role participates in an **annual profit share bonus plan** . **Time Off Program** Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness.
