Director, Supply Chain Management - Implementation
Position Summary...

What you'll do...

The Director of Supply Chain Management, Implementation for the Next Gen Fulfillment Network is responsible for driving change management, training, and enabling continuous improvement and large-scale projects to deliver value for associates, customers, and the overall network. 

This position is based in Bentonville, AR. Anticipated travel for this role is up to 75%.   

What You’ll Do 

Develops and leverages internal and external partnerships to maximize the achievement of business goals by engaging and leading stakeholders in the development and evaluation of appropriate business plans and initiatives and supporting associate efforts in these areas. 

Provides overall direction based on business objectives and customer needs developing communication plans, building support for, and implementing business strategies plans and practices to determine resource requirements, and evaluating operational processes measuring outcomes to ensure desired results and sponsoring continuous learning. 

Implements and sustains process improvement programs; partnering with cross-functional teams to develop the operational strategy to simplify processes; providing guidance and expertise on company policies, practices, and procedures; ensuring proper controls, tools, and materials are present in order to enhance behavior change; partnering with stakeholders to ensure alignment and support of the processes; monitoring program performance in relation to metrics; identifying post-implementation issues and concerns; and developing and gaining buy-in on changes and resolutions. 

Drives initiatives to adopt processes and technologies for key business functions to achieve business objectives and programs by analyzing data and evaluating key business components to assess current performance baselines; identifying gaps, opportunities, and needed improvements. Evaluates current practices and solutions; ensuring program processes are simple, executable, and sustainable for use with proper rollout plans; aligning with cross-functional teams and communicating changes to stakeholders to get buy-in and drive behavior change. 

Directs supply chain flow process efforts by overseeing the development and delivery of new ways of working among supply chain stakeholders, ensuring plans are achievable; championing innovation to simplify current solutions and methodologies, managing the correction of errors processes and feedback loops, identifying areas of opportunity to improve service levels supporting the use of end-to-end costing methodology and lean concepts, providing recommendations to reduce process waste, and reviewing the impact to internal processes. 

Drives projects nationwide by identifying areas of opportunity; determining proper procedures and guidelines for advising on, executing, and documenting organizational practices across multiple sites; understanding global trends that affect the business; demonstrating and communicating working knowledge of industry best practices and Walmart policies and procedures in business area of expertise; anticipating issues of concern; and being proactive in recommending sustainable solutions in area of expertise. 

Manages the alignment of business initiatives and the support segment strategy by identifying, aligning, and managing interdependencies across implementation portfolio; assessing capacity and resources and adjusting prioritization and assignments based on strategy; ensuring support segment expertise is incorporated into business initiatives; designing initiative operationalization within support segment frameworks; and providing guidance to ensure the target associate and customer experience is identified and represented throughout the portfolio. 

Drives solutions for cross-functional team processes to maximize results by evaluating current systems and processes; researching and developing solutions to address pain points and gaps; aligning technology solutions across business models, segments, and markets; developing business cases to support recommendations for systems enhancements or adoption of new systems; gaining business partner buy-in and support for recommendations; and developing, testing, and implementing new procedures and systems. 

Develops and implements strategies to attract and maintain a highly skilled and engaged workforce by diagnosing capability gaps; recruiting, selecting, and developing talent; supporting mentorship, workforce development, and succession planning; and leveraging the capabilities of new and existing talent. 

Accountable for overseeing the performance and execution for all Continuous Skills Development (CSD) activities within a division of the Fulfillment Network, including effective onboarding, training, and upskilling of associates through planning and executing all training initiatives to meet organizational goals, optimizing cross-training health throughout the year, and preparing the fulfillment center for peak hiring demands. Establish clear partnership plans with functional onboarding partner teams such as AP, Systems, RO, and People to facilitate seamless integration and execution of training programs. 

Cultivates an environment where associates respect and adhere to company standards of integrity and ethics by integrating these values into all programs and practices; developing consequences for violations or non-compliance; and supporting the Open Door Policy.

Demonstratable business acumen and ownership of projects. 

Defining vision and strategies for change management; defining internal and external requirements, building business cases, and approving objectives. 

Leading in design and development of processes to implement across the Fulfilment Center network. 

Developing and implementing large-scale product, process, and technology projects for brownfield and greenfield sites to enhance operational efficiencies and increase productivity. 

Implementing efficiencies and best practices in Fulfilment Centers 

Establishing, influencing, and managing high-visibility key relationships 

Preferred Qualifications 

10 + years of operations and analytical experience  

Proven project management skills with a track record of successful project execution

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00-$220,000.00

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or related field and 5 years’ experience in logistics, distribution, transportation, or related
area OR 7 years’ experience in logistics, distribution, transportation, or related area.
3 years’ experience with advanced functionality of Microsoft Office.
2 years’ supervisory experience.
