Director, Strategy Ops

Position Summary

As part of the Ads Product & Engineering organization at Samsung Ads, you will be responsible for designing, building and maintaining the products and platforms that support and drive the hyper growth of the ads business and achieve our multi-billion-dollar annual revenue goals. You will partner with stakeholders to identify, ideate, and build solutions that solve our user’s pain points and drive business value. You are an autonomous, self-starter that can lead, inspire, and resolve ambiguity across many stakeholders and competing interests. You are organized, thorough, and detailed being a trusted partner to engineers to build and release features that users love. You are comfortable in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment and can interface with teams spread across the globe.
The Product Strategy & Planning role will help own and drive the strategic agenda for the company across a broad portfolio of ad products, spanning Connected TV, mobile, gaming, and native TV advertising. This role will be responsible for a variety of different tasks that are central to the Ads P&E organization, including organizational planning, budget oversight, long-term strategic planning, annual product planning, product portfolio governance, and business and organizational KPI monitoring and governance. This role will work with a number of key partner teams within and outside of Ads P&E in executing against these areas, including Product Management, Product Operations, Finance, BD, and Samsung HQ.

Create and maintain a compelling vision for product strategy across the portfolio of Samsung Ads product areas, considering mid-to-long term time horizonsEvaluation of key market opportunities, competitive assessment, and industry trending through various modeling and analytical techniquesPartnerships and M&A evaluation for key strategic gap areas as defined within mid-to-long term strategic visionOrganizational planning and oversight, including benchmarking, talent evaluation, and long-term organizational planning in alignment to strategy and financial planningAd-hoc strategic projects as needed in partnership with key stakeholdersDefine goals and measurable success metrics Be the subject matter expert within and across product areas, knowledgeable across strategic, technical and business aspectsMake clear, concise trade-off decisions when competing priorities ariseCommunicate the strategy, plans and progress to stakeholders across a variety of teams and audiencesFoster a culture of trust, openness, collaboration and inclusiveness

Skills and Qualifications

Qualifications (education, certificates, special training, etc.) and Experience (years & background)

Minimum 12 years of related experience and a Bachelor's degree, or 10 years and a Master's degree, or a PhD with 7 years experience5+ combined years in strategy, product, program or project management2+ years of experience related to advertising technologyDeep understanding of CPM/CPI/CPA/ROAS advertising productsExperience with long-term business planning and strategy in a comparable industry/area Deep understanding of user retention, LTV, and ROIKnowledge of Ad tech architecture systems a plus (DSP, SSP, ad serving, etc.)Track record of delivering successful and significant software productsPassion for building disruptive products in fast-paced, cross-functional environment 3+ year(s) of experience working at an advertising technology company *preferred*1+ year(s) of management consulting experience *preferred*Experience with Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) *preferred*

Compensation for this role, for candidates based in Los Angeles & is expected to be between $160,000 ~ $200,000.  Actual pay will be determined considering factors such as relevant skills and experience, and comparison to other employees in the role.
