Position Overview
The Director, SI&OP leads the analysis of demand trends, oversees production forecasting and planning, and ensures timely interventions to maintain progress. This leader is responsible for developing production and business planning frameworks, managing budgets, driving operational and strategic initiatives, and building strong internal and external relationships. S/he will prioritize performance management, organizational capability development, and effective stakeholder engagement.
This position directly shapes how the business plans, decides, and executes. You won’t inherit a finished system—you’ll build it, lead it, and elevate it. The impact is enterprise-wide, visible at the executive level, and critical to long-term scalability.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop comprehensive production planning frameworks in a complex manufacturing environment, leveraging strategic insights and scenario analysis to support strategic production planning and progress control.
Summarize and secure approval for annual business plans that align with strategy, include measurable outcomes, detailed budgets, and business cases for major projects, ensuring cross-functional collaboration.
Take responsibility for setting and managing area budgets so they align with organizational strategy.
Support the overall organizational strategy by developing and delivering operational plans and outcomes for a large portion of the business.
Develop and deliver the strategic planning approach for a key part of the organization.
Communicate the function's strategy and its relationship to the organization's mission, vision and values; clarify the actions needed to implement it within the area of responsibility; motivate people to commit to these and to doing extraordinary things to achieve the organization's business goals.
Build strong, trusted relationships with senior executives to provide expert guidance that supports business strategy and planning.
Oversee business area performance, set goals for direct reports, and ensure objectives are met by taking corrective action as needed.
Qualifications & Experience
10+ years progressive experience in SIOP, supply chain, demand planning or operations in a complex, global manufacturing organization
Experience in high-mix, configurable manufacturing environments preferred
Proven success building and owning a formal SIOP process
Experience leading or partnering with global leaders and teams
Deep, hands-on knowledge of ERP and forecasting systems
Ability to balance customer service, operational execution, and financial outcomes
Strong analytical mindset with a bias for action
Confident communication who can influence senior leaders and drive alignment
Experience with a formal business system and/or Lean / Six Sigma preferred
Must be located in either Houston or DFW with ability to be onsite when not traveling
Travel up to 25%
