Director, Sales Support, Private Banking

Job Description

What is the opportunity? 

As a senior leader, you will be the key driver of RBC Private Banking’s growth agenda through its leadership and management of Regional Managers Sales Support, responsible for the overall performance of the Private Banking Associate teams supporting GTR, International Private Banking & a National Associate Support Team. You will have responsibility 7 Regional/National Managers Sales Support who manage upwards of 140 Private Banking Associates & Advisors. As custodian of the growth strategy, you’ll deliver our key strategic priorities, leading initiatives, lead test and learn initiatives, and implement change with excellence. 

What will you do?

Lead team as a One RBC leader and integrator across Greater Toronto Region and International Private Banking, responsible for the performance and contribution of the sales support teams, focusing on implementation/execution of our growth strategy initiatives including consistency of activities to support our strategic priorities. Drive success of National Associate Support Team, a new team providing virtual Associate coverage across the nation.Coach and reinforce the importance of deep discovery, offering solutions and advice tailored to each client’s individual needs, always ensuring the delivery of an exceptional Client Experience. by being on the client’s path and deliver excellent client value through all RBC roles and channels; lead teams to resolve client problems at first point of contact, digitally enable each client, provide proactive problem resolution and prevention through quality advice that gets it right the first time ensuring that no client leaves unsatisfied.Build leadership, sales management routines, coaching, performance management and risk management capabilities of direct reports. Efficiently manage FTE to ensure effective use of sales support resources to anticipate and capitalize on market opportunity while maintaining optimum productivity.Lead talent management, active workforce and succession planning and career progression practices that grow diversity, capabilities, and talents suited to advising & servicing HNW/VHNW/UHNW/Enterprise clients across the market for today and tomorrow, including the accelerated development of high potential employees.Make strategic business decisions to attain sustainable results over the short and long term and be successful over the economic cycle. Understand and manage strategic, reputational, operational, credit and regulatory compliance risk.  Maintain strong risk conduct by fostering risk awareness, setting a balanced risk tone, promoting our culture of integrity and encouraging diverse viewpoints about risks. 

What do you need to succeed?

Must Have:

7+ years of people management experience, proven strong leadership and coaching abilities across large teams of professionalsDemonstrated ability to lead change, inspire teams and manage complex and/or start-up initiatives/projectsExceptional at cultivating relationships, partnering and collaborating in a highly matrixed environment, strong communicatorLeads with a strategic mindset and is influential to address business needs; results oriented, multitasking and strong sense of urgency.Strong organizational awareness and business acumen of Personal &Commercial Banking
