Job Description:

The Director Public Finance TDS is responsible for raising capital and recommending strategic advisory transactions for governmental, not-for-profit and developer clients.  Reviews financial cash flow models, and various financial analyses, including bond structuring. Maintains senior client relationships and delivers presentations on proposed transactions. Acts as a senior member of the team and provides oversight to deal team members and junior resources.

In this role, you'll be responsible for originating senior managed fixed rate and variable rate bond underwriting transactions.  The successful candidate will be adept at using DBC Finance to analyze existing debt, model new project debt and creatively recommend strategies that result in cost saving ideas for the client to consider.  You should be proficient in reviewing financial statements, rating agency strategy and have existing relationships with senior financial professionals withing this sector.  This role will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with healthcare clients with the goal of senior managing bond transactions over time.  The Director will be able to lead a team of analysts, associates and vice presidents to effectively deliver creative financing ideas to clients and their advisors.  Must be proficient in deal execution and have a successful track record of working with our taxable and tax-exempt trading desk to execute and manage a client engagement during a senior managed bond pricing and closing. 

Depth & Scope

Leads the team in the development of the Public Finance Origination business in the U.S. for TD Securities

Ensures that each proposed transaction receive appropriate underwriting approvals (and swap limit approvals) under TD approved procedures

Authorizes transactions attesting that they meet or exceed regulatory standards

Develops and promotes a business model and strategy which focuses strong partnering with officers of the Firm, its affiliates and in particular with relationship bankers of TD Bank N.A. to enhance the Banks profile and market share of Municipal, not-for-profit and Public Finance business in TD's defined market

Position is responsible for developing, training and mentoring employees on the Public Finance Origination team to strengthen the teams overall performance as well as that of the individuals

Position liaises closely with the banks other operations and product groups in the U.S. to assist in meeting the banks objectives

Position possesses expert knowledge on market data, economic information and key industry developments as well as regulatory standards at all times to assist in maximizing profitability through sound underwriting and trading decisions. Position develops and maintains contacts with market participants

To prepare and present presentation material relating to the client's financing plans while being sensitive to all corresponding compliance issues

Integrated marketing approach for origination of all TD products including: bond underwriting, remarketing agent services, GIC provider, interest rate swaps, and  commercial bank products through our partners at TD Bank.


Education & Experience:

Minimum requirement is a bachelors degree in Business, Mathematics or Economics

8+ Years of direct experience required

FINRA Series 7 and 63 Licenses required
