Director, Product (CNBC Subscription Experience)
Job Description We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced product leader to drive the next generation of CNBC’s subscription experiences. This is a unique opportunity to join a newly formed product and design organization supporting ambitious digital growth goals. The Director, Product, CNBC Subscription Experiences owns the day-to-day product strategy and execution for CNBC’s gated, paid, and high-intent user experiences, from free-to-paid conversion through long-term subscriber engagement and retention. This role partners closely with the VP, Product and Design on portfolio alignment and long-term vision, and works in close collaboration with the Director, Product, Core Experiences to ensure a cohesive end-to-end audience journey. This leader will help define and scale CNBC’s subscription value proposition by translating real-time, comprehensive, and trusted market and business intelligence into differentiated products, tools, and experiences users are willing to pay for. Partnering with editorial, design, engineering, marketing, and data teams, the role balances journalism, investor utility, and business outcomes. The Director is accountable for defining success metrics, guiding execution, and driving measurable impact on acquisition, engagement, retention, and revenue across web, mobile, streaming, and emerging platforms. Skills and Requirements • 7+ years of product management experience, including 5+ years leading teams in digital media, news, or streaming environments. • Proven success building and scaling consumer-facing subscription products that drive engagement, retention, and revenue. • Strong understanding of newsroom workflows, publishing systems, and multi-format media ecosystems. • Demonstrated experience working cross-functionally with editorial, marketing, analytics, engineering, design, business, and legal teams. • Highly data-driven, with deep experience using analytics, experimentation, and testing frameworks. • Strong understanding of personalization, AI-driven content delivery, APIs, and recommendation systems. • Deep knowledge of subscription, commerce, and ad-supported media business models. Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills • Strong grasp of accessibility standards and best practices for subscriber acquisition, engagement, and retention. • Comfort operating in a fast-paced, evolving, and ambiguous environment with a bias toward action and results. • Experience working within a large, matrixed media organization or multi-brand digital ecosystem. • Familiarity with enterprise CMS platforms, subscription solutions (e.g., Piano), and video publishing workflows. • Proficiency with product and collaboration tools such as JIRA, Confluence, and Figma. Experience with AI-assisted or rapid prototyping tools. • Understanding of OTT, connected TV, and cross-platform video product design. • Passion for journalism, investing, and the evolving role of digital news and lifestyle media. • Bachelor’s degree preferred; MBA a plus. • Passion for investor and business content and tools.
