Director, Operations-Policy and Process Governance-Last Mile Delivery Trust and Safety
Position Summary...We are seeking a detail-oriented and execution-focused Director, Policy and Process Governance to support Trust & Safety (T&S) within Walmart’s Last Mile Delivery (LMD) program. This leader will oversee governance for broad range of internal policies, processes, and platforms that underpin T&S functions. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in policy governance, data governance, and process management. This role will be pivotal in driving cohesion and consistency in execution across teams while ensuring alignment with the business, regulatory requirements, and emerging risks.

What you'll do...

•Policy and process governance: Central oversight and maintenance of core T&S policies, processes, and standards (e.g., PII governance, eligibility standards); Leverage AI to improve access to knowledge and speed to decision-making; Ensure processes provide fair, defensible outcomes for customers, contracted drivers, and store associates; Design process maps and governance that enable ownership, clarity, and speed.

•Data governance: Design and implement a comprehensive data governance framework to ensure high-quality, reliable data supports key T&S functions such as compliance reporting, fraud investigations, deactivations, and appeals; Partner with Legal, Privacy, Compliance, and InfoSec teams to ensure data practices are aligned with internal standards and external regulatory requirements; Own the inventory of AI/ML models and ensure internal AI governance and relevant regulatory frameworks are met.

•Platform governance: Oversee access management, permissions, and security protocols for T&S-owned systems and tools; Ensure compliance with enterprise data protection and InfoSec standards.

•Change management: Develop a framework for major policy and platform changes; Track version control, change logs, and approval logs; Support change communications and training plans as necessary.

•Cross-functional collaboration: Partner with senior leadership to align governance efforts with LMD goals and emerging industry trends; Establish feedback loops with operational teams to measure process effectiveness and continuous improvement.

What you'll bring:

•10+ years of experience in technology, risk management, data governance, operations, process optimization, policy governance, or related fields.

•Proven success in leading cross-functional initiatives, managing governance frameworks, and executing change management strategies at scale.

•Deep understanding of policy design, legal/regulatory interpretation, and operationalization.

•Strong communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills; ability to influence across functions and seniority levels.

•Expertise in data governance and data security best practices.

•Deep understanding of product lifecycle and AI model development.

•Familiarity with LLM models and chatbot AI technologies and use cases.

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00-$220,000.00
