Director, Operations - Driver Engagement, Communications & Content
Position Summary...We’re looking for a visionary and execution-focused leader to shape the future of how Spark Driver communicates, connects, and celebrates its driver community. As Director of Engagement, Communications & Content, you’ll lead a multidisciplinary team responsible for delivering a cohesive, data-driven, and emotionally resonant experience across all driver touchpoints—from in-app messaging and email to web content, support comms, and driver appreciation programs.

This role is central to our mission of making Spark Driver the most trusted and beloved platform for gig drivers.

What you'll do...

Strategic Vision & Innovation 

- Define and execute a multi-year strategy for driver communications and content experience aligned with platform growth, operational excellence, and driver satisfaction. 
- Champion innovation by integrating GenAI, automation, and personalization into content workflows—leveraging tools like predictive analytics, intelligent targeting, and LLM-based content generation. 
- Lead the evolution of Spark Driver’s content excellence program, ensuring every message is brand-aligned, compliant, and emotionally resonant. 
- Own the AI-driven transformation of driver communications, engagement, product content, and design—reimagining how we write, personalize, and scale impactful messaging. 

Performance & Impact 

- Establish and monitor KPIs such as engagement rates, NPS, churn reduction, and feature adoption. 
- Use data-driven insights to continuously optimize content effectiveness and channel performance. 
- Drive continuous improvement through structured feedback loops, A/B testing, and performance analytics. 

Leadership & Talent Development 

- Lead and mentor a high-performing team across creative, technical, and operational domains. 
- Foster a culture of innovation, inclusion, and continuous learning. 
- Attract and retain top talent by creating a compelling vision and growth opportunities. 

Omnichannel Content Strategy 

- Oversee content creation and deployment across all driver-facing channels: app, email, SMS, web, video, and support. 
- Ensure consistency in voice, tone, and brand across all touchpoints, guided by the Spark Driver Content and Comms Style Guide. 
- Own the driver resource center, FAQs, and technical content strategy to support first-time resolution and reduce support volume. 
- Lead the strategy, content architecture, and user experience design of Spark Driver’s web presence—ensuring it is intuitive, informative, and aligned with our brand promise. 

Brand & Experience Stewardship 

- Drive the Spark Driver App’s branding strategy and execution—ensuring a unified, recognizable, and emotionally resonant identity across all channels and experiences. 
- Elevate programs like “Make it Spark!” and other multimedia storytelling initiatives to increase awareness, participation, and platform loyalty. 

Cross-Functional Collaboration 

- Partner with Product, Engineering, Legal, Support, and Marketing to align messaging with platform capabilities and business priorities. 
- Lead crisis communications and real-time updates during outages or platform changes. 
- Serve as a strategic support partner to Marketing, PR, and external communications teams—ensuring alignment, amplification, and consistency across internal and external narratives. 

Preferred Qualifications 

- 10+ years of experience in communications, content strategy, or engagement roles—preferably in gig economy, tech, or platform-based businesses. 
- Proven leadership in managing large-scale content and communications programs across multiple channels. 
- Deep understanding of GenAI tools and their application in content creation and personalization. 
- Strong analytical skills with experience using data to drive decisions and optimize performance. 
- Exceptional storytelling, writing, and editing skills. 
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing through influence in matrixed environments. 

Additional Preferences 

- Experience in gig platforms, logistics, or marketplace ecosystems, Strategy and Experience engagement 
- Familiarity with tools like Braze, Figma, Canva, and enterprise CMS platforms. 
- Background in behavioral science, UX writing, or content design.

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00-$220,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
