Touro University is seeking a Director to establish the Office of Student Success with a branch for Mentoring Communities and a branch for Career Advancement to support the enrollment, retention, and graduation of students. The Director will report to the Principal Investigator and is projected to supervise a Coordinator of Mentor Communities and a Coordinator of Career Advancement. The Office of Student Success is being developed under the U.S. Department of Education grant for the Title III Strengthening Institutions Program (SIP). The grant is designed to help IHEs "expand their capacity to serve low-income students by providing funds to improve and strengthen the academic quality, institutional management, and fiscal stability of eligible institutions." Touro's SIP program will take a community approach to ensuring student success that is fueled by real-world application and supported with layered mentoring from peers to alumni experts.

Responsibilities

As the founding staff member of the Office of Student Success, the Director will play a key role in setting vision and enacting a plan to bring it to fruition. If you find joy in building out the infrastructure necessary to launch a new initiative and thinking through all of the details that are needed to ensure its success, this is the role for you. As the Director, you will oversee the direction and efficacy of Touro University's approach to student support and success, in particular as it relates to strengthening enrollment, retention, and graduation rates at NYSCAS. While this includes different responsibilities, the key functions of the Director role include:

Ongoing Strategy Development and ExecutionRefine the proposed vision, mission, and set of strategic goals to span the five years of the grant lifecycleEngage in ongoing cross-functional meetings at Touro University to develop momentum for the adoption of SIP practices and proceduresCommunicate the ongoing execution of SIP activities and related findingsLeverage existing systems and functions within Touro University to institutionalize new practices and improvements with longevityEnsure SIP operation is in compliance with Title III, U.S. Department of Education regulations, Touro grant policies, and institutional development goalsPersonnel SupervisionDefine the role and related responsibilities for the Coordinator positions in the Office of Student SuccessServe as the hiring manager overseeing the process for each Coordinator, Faculty Mentor, and Student Intern position neededMonitor and evaluate the performance of each staff member in the Office of Student Success in alignment with SIP goals and Touro University proceduresFacilitate ongoing office and individual team meetings at a cadence deemed necessary by the project focusGrant OversightRegularly monitor project progress towards meeting the Comprehensive Development Plan (CDP) Objectives and their enrollment, retention, and graduation targets using the formative and summative benchmarksDirect the internal evaluation and coordinate the external evaluation of the project in collaboration with the external evaluatorEnsure timely project execution within budgetOversee preparation of fiscal and program project reports for Touro and Title III in conjunction with Touro University staff Qualifications Education/ExperienceMaster's degree requiredDoctoral degree preferred in related fieldsAt least ten years of prior relevant experienceKnowledge/Skills/AbilitiesStrong communication and interpersonal skillsExcellent organizational skillsAbility to take initiative and to work independentlyProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, & OutlookTravelSome travel may be involved

Salary

Salary range begins at $100,000/year Maximum Salary USD $120,000.00/Yr. Minimum Salary USD $100,000.00/Yr.
