Job Description

The purpose of this job is to lead the merchandising efforts across multiple categories of business, to collaborate with leadership and cross functional teams to develop and deliver high quality products that generate consistent year over year sales and sustainable profit growth.

Essential Functions

Lead multiple company category merchandising teamsProvide strong leadership, business strategy, and product vision to a team of category managers and their direct reportsSupervise, train, coach, and mentor team members; regularly conduct performance evaluations and update succession plansDevelop and execute both short and long term merchandising strategies that support the company's strategic growth plansCreate and implement new concepts for product assortments and initiatives that generate continuous profitable growthWork in partnership with the Chief Merchant to ensure that category teams adhere to the merchandising calendarDevelop and deliver products that support sales goals and ensure the company's relevance and competitiveness in the marketplaceResearch and analyze customer and competition trends within the industry to identify emerging products and services that will grow the company brand and drive sales within categoriesCollaborate with cross functional partners in store operations, marketing, customer relationship management, and digital to develop category specific strategies that acquire and retain loyal customersPartner with multiple company teams to ensure that store design, fixtures, marketing, advertising, and related elements are all consistent with the merchandising strategy and overall brand directionRegularly visit company stores as well as competitors to identify and evaluate opportunities for improvementModel behaviors that support the company’s common purpose; ensure guests and team members are supported at the highest levelEnsure all activities are in compliance with rules, regulations, policies, and proceduresComplete other duties as assigned

QualificationsBachelor's degree in business or other related field requiredMinimum 15 years’ executive level retail merchandising experience requiredMBA preferred
