Job Summary:
In collaboration with physician chief, responsible for the design and oversight of effective radiology operations throughout the Colorado Region. Accountabilities include process improvement, scope of radiology practice, physician liaison, and representation of the region on national radiology groups.
Essential Responsibilities:
+ This position, knows and complies with all Kaiser Permanente quality, safety, and emergency policies and procedures. Demonstrates quality and effectiveness in work habits and clinical practice in every interaction with patients, colleagues, providers, and leadership. Ensures patient safety in the preparation and provisioning of care related to but not limited to medications, procedures, infection prevention, fall prevention, including consistent use of two patient identifiers and procedural time outs. Reports safety hazards, accidents and incidents, and unsafe working conditions promptly.
+ Manages the design and implementation of radiology cost, service and quality improvements programs.
+ Provides leadership and support to radiology managers and health plan staff, including hiring and performance review of reporting managers.
+ Reviews, recommends and develops vision, policies and standards for radiology services.
+ Assists reporting managers in planning of service delivery models for new service areas.
+ Approves and executes department-based budgeting.
+ Consults and coordinates with medical office and department leaders on local issues and general operating practices related to radiology services.
+ Provides managers direction; coaching in leadership skills, knowledge of KP business practices, political sensitivities, and labor-partnership principles.
+ Meets with reporting managers to provide guidance, counseling, encouragement, or for other work-related matters.
+ Communicates anticipated major changes in radiology to human resources, union leadership and others as appropriate.
+ Co-chairs regional radiology quality assurance committee.
+ Presents annual SQRMC radiology reporting.
+ Participates in regional committees and on national strategic service teams.
+ Provides information to NPO on potential impact of decisions to the Colorado Region.
+ Manages assigned staff by interviewing, selecting, and training, motivating, evaluating, counseling, disciplining and terminating in compliance with EEO/AA goals and personnel policies of the organization.
+ Follows-up on customer services issues for resolution/recovery, most often including direct involvement with members.
+ Monitors radiology customer services from a global perspective, e.g., service delivery model.
Basic Qualifications:
Experience
+ Minimum eight (8) years of clinical radiology experience.
+ Minimum seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience, which includes radiology management experience.
Education
+ Masters degree in business or health care required OR six (6) years of experience in a directly related field.
+ High School Diploma OR General Education Development (GED) required.
License, Certification, Registration
+ Radiologic Technologist Certification from American Registry of Radiologic Technologists OR Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Certificate - Abdomen from American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers
Additional Requirements:
+ Completion of an approved training program in radiologic technology, and currently registered as a radiologic technologist with the ARRT and / or ARDMS.
+ Working knowledge of clinical computer systems, PC computer skills.
+ Broad knowledge and understanding of health care delivery in an ambulatory setting; technical and quality assurance issues related to all areas of health care, especially radiology services.
+ Highly effective interpersonal and leadership skills are required in building programs to support and maintain medical staff, hospital, and community relationships.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Bachelors degree in radiology services preferred.
Position will lead medical imaging departments. Will require travel to other clinics as well as flexible working hours to meet operational needs.
