The position
As an Director, Human Resources, you will:

 

Act as a strategic partner to the Vice President & Managing Director, GBS and other functional leaders on all HR matters. Develop and implement the People Strategy for GBS, ensuring alignment with site and functional needs.
Shape and foster a culture of purpose, passion, and pride within GBS. Drive operational excellence in HR processes and systematically plan and deliver impactful HR initiatives. Ensure compliance with local labour laws, Novo Nordisk Way, and Business Ethics in all people life-cycle processes. Lead and manage the GBS HR team, with responsibility for people and budget. Partner with Centres of Excellence (CoEs) and HQ Function HR Partners to ensure seamless service delivery and effective communication.

 

Qualifications
Our next joiner should meet the following requirements: 

 

Master’s degree in human resources or related fields from a reputable institute. Additional relevant certifications/specializations (e.g., organisational development, labour law, leadership, HR analytics, change management) are an advantage. Minimum 15 years of progressive HR experience with proven tenure at senior HR leadership level (HR Director/Head of HR) in large, matrixed organisations. Demonstrable track record in shaping and developing culture, leading end‑to‑end people‑lifecycle processes and delivering process optimisations that meet business goals. Proven ability to balance process rigor with people‑centric leadership. Excellent senior stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with experience partnering with executive leadership and business units to translate strategy into people solutions. Have emotional intelligence, with strong coaching, mentoring, facilitation and change‑communication capabilities.

Novo Nordisk Global Business Services (GBS) is an integral global capability centre of Novo Nordisk, operating as a hub that supports the organisation across the full pharmaceutical value chain. Established in 2007, the centre in Bangalore has grown from a small operational unit into a mature, multi-functional hub of around 4,000 employees, serving over 80 global affiliates and partnering closely with Denmark-based colleagues to deliver high-value, end-to-end business solutions. Over its seventeen-year journey, GBS has expanded significantly in scale, capability and strategic relevance, progressing from transactional support functions to owning complex, enterprise-critical processes. The evolution of GBS reflects a deliberate shift towards depth and sophistication.
