Director, Global Benefits City Irving State/Province Texas Overview:

The Director, Global Benefits is a critical role on Celanese’s Total Rewards leadership team. Reporting to the Vice President of Total Rewards, this role is responsible for leading global benefits across all Celanese businesses, including our global health and wellness plans and retirement programs. Our Director, Global Benefits ensures the cost-effective leadership of our benefit programs while ensuring they attract and retain the talent critical to our success. This role serves as the global subject matter expert for our regional HR and Total Reward partners.

Responsibilities: Lead the development and execution of the global benefits and retirement strategy, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and compliance across all regions.Establish and maintain governance frameworks for benefits and retirement programs, driving consistency, equity, and risk management globally.Serve as the primary advisor on benefits and retirement matters, partnering with regional teams and external vendors to ensure programs remain competitive and cost-effective.Provide direct hands-on oversight of U.S. benefits and retirement operations. For non- U.S. programs, provide strategic oversight and guidance rather than direct administration of day-to-day operations, enabling regional and local teams to manage execution effectively.Monitor emerging trends, regulatory changes, and market practices to inform strategic decisions and maintain global competitiveness.Leads the effective management of all global benefits vendors and providers through the global benefits team; ensure appropriate processes are established, outcomes achieved, and service levels are met, while promptly addressing issues that may arise.Ensures the appropriate partnership and collaboration with our finance, legal, and human resources teams to execute our benefit and retirement programsEnsures the development, maintenance, and utilization of key statistical reporting to analyze benefit spend, utilization, and future changes to our programsManage and support, as needed, any M&A related benefit or retirement support in partnership with additional key internal stakeholders.Ensure team supports any and all required compliance, filings and disclosures and does so within a timely fashion. Qualifications: 10+ years relevant work experience, with at least 5 years managing a team of benefits professionalsExperience with U.S. health plans and defined benefit programs. Bachelor’s Degree or higher, and /or equivalent work experience.Appropriate understanding of benefits related rules, regulations and requirements, particularly FMLA, ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, CAA, etc.Experience designing, implementing, and managing healthcare, wellness, and retirement programs in a unionized environment (U.S.)Experience designing, implementing, and managing similar benefits programs in partnership with European Works Councils.Experience influencing and interacting with Senior Management.Appropriate knowledge of, and capability with, Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, etc.) and any other relevant tools.Excellent consulting, customer service, and collaboration skills, with a proven ability to think strategically and balance our focus of providing competitive yet cost-effective benefits for our employees.Experience successfully executing both divestitures and acquisitions into and out of existing health and retirement programs.Proven record of effectively managing key vendors, both to execute required services but ensuring those services are completed in a cost-effective and timely fashion.Ability to manage ambiguity, summarize key issues, and effectively communicate existing challenges to leadership, while likewise brining forward solutions to resolve.Knowledge of SAP and Success Factors a plus.
