Job Description SummaryThe Director, GE HealthCare Ventures plays a pivotal role in executing the company’s strategic venture investment agenda. This role will partner closely with the Managing Director and GEHC business segments to identify, evaluate, structure, and manage strategic equity and debt investments, partnerships, and innovation collaborations. The Director will lead critical elements of the venture investment lifecycle — from thematic scouting and sourcing through diligence, deal execution, and portfolio support — to help GE HealthCare access emerging technologies, new business models, and innovative platforms that accelerate growth.

Essential Duties

Partner with the Managing Director and segment leadership to translate strategic priorities into actionable venture investment theses and focus areas.Lead sourcing and origination efforts by building relationships with founders, co-investors, accelerators, incubators, venture networks, and innovation ecosystems.Conduct market landscaping and technology scouting to identify emerging trends, unmet needs, and potential opportunities aligned with GEHC’s long-term strategy.Lead key phases of the investment process including opportunity assessment, commercial and technical diligence, valuation, financial modeling, and structuring.Partner with internal stakeholders — including business units, product teams, R&D, regulatory, and legal — to assess strategic fit and shape deal structures.Prepare and present investment recommendations to GEHC Ventures’ investment committee and senior leadership.Negotiate deal terms, lead the drafting and execution of transaction documents, and coordinate with external advisors as needed.Support portfolio companies as a board observer or strategic advisor, helping them navigate commercialization, scale, and partnership opportunities with GEHC.Collaborate with GEHC segment teams to identify potential pilots, co-development projects, or future acquisition opportunities stemming from the venture portfolio.Monitor portfolio performance and strategic alignment, and contribute to follow-on investment decisions, exit planning, and integration considerations.Mentor and oversee the work of Associates and Analysts, fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture within the Ventures team.

Required qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Life Sciences, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred.Minimum 8 years of experience in venture capital, corporate venture, business development, investment banking, growth equity, or strategy consulting, with at least 5 years focused on transactions or investments.Experience leading significant components of the investment process, including sourcing, diligence, valuation, deal structuring, and execution.Proven ability to translate strategic priorities into actionable investment theses and deal flow.Strong analytical and financial modeling skills, with the ability to evaluate complex technologies and business models.Demonstrated success working cross-functionally in a matrixed environment and partnering with senior executives.Excellent communication, presentation, and storytelling skills with the ability to articulate complex ideas to executive audiences.Experience in healthcare, medtech, diagnostics, digital health, or related sectors preferred.Adaptable and comfortable working in dynamic, ambiguous environments with evolving strategies.

We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening. For U.S. based positions only, the pay range for this position is $169,600.00-$254,400.00 Annual. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the pay range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including skills, qualifications, experience and location. In addition, this position may also be eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI).
