Director, Financial Reporting
**Position Summary:** The Director Financial Reporting will work with various leaders within the organization to oversee the day to day functioning of the Company’s financial reporting department. This role provides oversight and review for the preparation of internal and external financial reports, including SEC filings, and ensures all reporting deadlines are met through effective project management. The position requires a strong background in technical accounting with the ability to interpret complex rules and regulations. The Director is also responsible for the preparation of quarterly presentations to management and the audit committee for key accounting and reporting matters and emerging regulatory changes. The role also oversees monthly accounting and forecasting for incentive-based compensation including share-based payments and the Company’s annual management bonus plan. **Principal Duties and Responsibilities:** + Manage the preparation of monthly financial reporting packages provided to executive leadership. + Ensure the accurate presentation of the Company’s basic financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, statements of stockholders equity and statements of cash flows. + Perform reviews of financial statement support to ensure completeness and accuracy. + Utilize Workiva to assist in the completion of the Company's quarterly and annual financial statements with the SEC (Form 10-K and 10-K). + Evaluate the use of excel, data analytics tools, and financial reporting software to improve the preparation and review of financial reports and schedules. + Analyze financial statement variances on a monthly and quarterly basis and provide narrative explanations to management and third-party auditors. + Maintain relationships with business partners to ensure early identification of transactions with accounting/reporting impacts. + Be the go-to for all technical research on various accounting issues, including accounting guidance related to leases, goodwill and intangibles, impairment, various corporate transactions, debt, fair value assessments, stock compensation, and more. + Lead the adoption of new accounting standards and develop reporting requirements. + Draft accounting positions and accounting policies consistent with our peer group, including benchmarking. + Research, interpret, and apply complex accounting principles to address unique business transactions and emerging accounting issues. + Research and analyze emerging accounting issues from the SEC, FASB and other regulatory bodies. + Review and / or prepare monthly journal entries related to incentive compensation plans including share-based payments and Company’s annual management bonus plan. + Prepare budgets and forecasts for incentive-based compensation. + Prepare benchmarking analysis of various disclosure requirements and propose enhancements and / or improvements to external reporting. + Coordinate with external and internal auditors related to financial reporting matters. **Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:** + Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting + 10+ years of accounting experience, including a minimum 6-7 years in public accounting, big 4 preferred. + Will consider candidates with a mix of public accounting and private company experience in financial reporting. + CPA required. + In-depth knowledge of FASB and SEC accounting frameworks and reporting requirements. + Ability to perform complex accounting research and prepare technical memorandums and presentations. + Experience in preparing or reviewing basic financial statements and notes, including a statement of cash flows. + Working knowledge of internal control requirements including SOX. + Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, Powerpoint, and Adobe PDF. + Attention to details, including regular follow-up on action items. + Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. + Ability to work in fast-paced team environment, handling multiple tasks and meeting deadlines. + Experience in managing multiple direct reports. + Experience with Blackline, IBM Planning Analytics or similar financial reporting software is a plus.
