With 2023 revenues of $20\.4 billion, we are a Fortune 500 company who is committed to providing an inclusive work environment with continuous learning opportunities and development for our teams\. **GENERAL PURPOSE:** The Director of Financial Planning & Analysis \(FP&A\) will be responsible for leading financial planning, forecasting, and business analytics functions for Ross\. As a key leader within the finance team, this role will provide critical insights and decision support to senior leadership, helping drive financial performance, profitability, and strategic growth initiatives\. Additionally, the Director of FP&A will own the creation of various financial reports and board level updates to support our Senior Executives \(including "C" level executives\), Board of Directors, and Investor Relations department\. The successful candidate will possess a strategic mindset with a deep understanding of retail financial dynamics, strong analytical capabilities, and the ability to partner effectively across multiple business units\. This is a high\-impact role that requires a forward\-thinking finance leader who thrives in a fast\-paced, results\-driven environment\. The Director will report to the Vice President of FP&A and will interact frequently with Executives across the Company\. The base salary range for this role is $128,300 \- $241,850\. The base salary range is dependent on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, qualifications, relevant education, certifications, seniority, and location\. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees\. Other rewards vary by position and location\. **ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:** • Lead the annual budgeting, forecasting, and long\-range planning processes and provide analytics and decision support on long term growth and profitability for both Ross and dd's while maintaining a comprehensive understanding into key business trends that will impact future financial performance\. • Engage with business partners across the organization to understand key drivers and strategies that impact financial performance and metrics\. • Coordinate FP&A activities across the organization which includes Income Statement creation, liquidity management, and ad\-hoc analysis to provide comprehensive financial projections and supporting analysis\. • Support Senior Executives \(including "C" level management\), Board of Directors, and Investor Relations by providing board level updates as well as analysis into shareholder payout strategies and overall investment allocation decisions\. • Lead, mentor, and develop a high\-performing FP&A team, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement\. • Streamline financial processes, leveraging technology and automation to enhance efficiency and accuracy\. • Drive standardization of finance activities and scalable routines, including development of training guides and standard operating procedures\. **COMPETENCIES:** People • Building Effective Teams • Developing Talent • Collaboration Self • Leading by Example • Communicates Effectively • Ensures Accountability and Execution • Manages Conflict Business • Business Acumen • Plans, Aligns and Prioritizes • Organizational Agility With particular emphasis on the following specific position\-related competencies: • Influencing Others • Integrity and Trust • Interpersonal Skills • Adaptability **QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:** • Bachelor's degree required \(preferably in an analytical field such as Finance, Economics, Accounting, etc\.\) • CPA or MBA preferred • Minimum of 7 to 10 years post\-college experience with demonstrated success at increasing levels of responsibility • Strong familiarity with core financial planning and analysis processes including long range planning, budgeting, forecasting, and financial control process design\. • Prior experience with EPM software \(e\.g\. Hyperion, Cognos TM1, SAP, etc\.\) preferred • Outstanding analytical ability \- must have a data driven approach to solving problems\. Requires very strong quantitative skills, a good sense of how to dissect problems and a strong ability to "connect the dots" \- e\.g\. understand how pieces of data interact with each other or how one finding should inform the result of another analysis\. • Prior retail or related experience is preferred \(but not required\) for this position\. An ideal candidate understands the intricacies of a retail P&L and balance sheet including margin, store and supply chain cost drivers\. This person will preferably understand and appreciate the nuances and financial operating requirements of an off\-price, low\-cost retail operator\. • Dynamic and self\-motivated \- must have the business acumen and drive necessary to be part of managing in a fast\-paced, changing retail environment\. • Excellent communication skills \- must be able to clearly communicate results and implications of analysis verbally and in writing\. • A detail\-oriented approach \- must pay extremely close attention to details and have the drive to get things right\. • Demonstrated ability to recruit, manage, and develop high\-performing staff\. • Relationship Building \- needs to be able to build effective working relationships with a broad range of people across the organization\. • Strong fundamental business technical skills \- must have very strong Excel modeling skills, proficiency in PowerPoint\. • Unquestionable personal and professional character and integrity \- must be trustworthy with confidential information\. **PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ADA:** Job requires ability to work in an office environment, primarily on a computer\. Requires sitting, standing, walking, hearing, talking on the telephone, attending in\-person meetings, typing, and working with paper/files, etc\. Consistent timeliness and regular attendance\.
