About the Team
The U.S. Transportation Finance & Strategy team partners with business leaders across Walmart’s Supply Chain to deliver data-driven insights, develop scalable financial models, and drive strategic initiatives. We are a collaborative, analytical, and results-oriented group focused on optimizing operations, enabling innovation, and achieving best-in-class customer experience and asset efficiency. As Director, you’ll play a pivotal role in influencing business outcomes, building strong cross-functional partnerships, and developing top supply chain finance talent.What you'll do...Manage and execute strategic projects from inception to completion—including cross-functional project management, data analysis and modeling, and delivering actionable insights across a portfolio of transportation products and services.Build scalable and complex financial models and processes to optimize transportation strategies, balancing customer experience with operating cost and asset efficiency.Develop and sustain strong relationships with internal partners to share best practices, coordinate interdisciplinary initiatives, and gather support for recommendations.Identify opportunities for growth, efficiency, and continuous improvement by collaborating with cross-functional teams and influencing execution of results.Align business partners and senior management around key projects and lead discussions to drive strategic change and adoption.Oversee both long-term strategic planning and short-term operational plans, setting targets, communicating financial expectations, and identifying risks and opportunities.Provide financial decision support to leadership, analyzing business performance, identifying gaps and opportunities, and supporting high-quality decision-making.Deliver compelling presentations and communications, translating complex financial and strategic concepts into clear recommendations for senior leaders. What you’ll bring: Extensive experience in finance, strategy, or analytics within supply chain, transportation, digital/tech product finance, or asset management environments.Strong financial acumen and analytical skills, with a proven ability to build and scale complex models and processes.Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage cross-functional projects, and influence stakeholders at all levels—including senior executives.Excellent communication, storytelling, and presentation skills—able to make complex subjects easily understood through data, visuals, and narratives.Strategic mindset with high standards, attention to detail, and a drive for results.Skilled at building relationships, aligning stakeholders with competing priorities, and cultivating a collaborative, high-integrity work environment.Passion for continuous improvement, curiosity, and tackling challenges at Fortune 1 scale. The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00 - $220,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
