The Private Infrastructure team creates long-term value for its fund and separate account clients by sourcing, acquiring and managing high-quality investments and building comprehensive infrastructure portfolios. Today the dedicated team of over 70 professionals in Toronto, London, and Sydney invest approximately US$9.9 billion on behalf of institutional investors globally. About the Role: CBRE Investment Management, Private Infrastructure is looking for a Director to join our growing team of professionals. As a member of the Direct Investment Team, the Director, Direct Private Infrastructure will play a key role investing in global infrastructure assets on behalf of our flagship fund and separately managed accounts. The Director, Direct Private Infrastructure will have the opportunity to work across our direct business and gain exposure to direct transactions and asset management. The Director will play a leading role in sourcing, diligencing, closing and managing infrastructure investments. What you'll do: –Takes a lead role in the sourcing, due diligence, structuring, negotiations, and closing of direct investments; actively leading on-going asset management, including maintaining relationships with portfolio company management and debt providers, monitoring the ongoing financial performance and overseeing valuations –Conducts research, analysis, due diligence and evaluation of a variety of investment opportunities as well as oversees the overall evaluation process and the development of complex financial models and valuation analysis –Responsible for preparing investment recommendations, conducting industry research, developing detailed financial models and reviewing investment and legal materials –Plays a lead role in presenting investment recommendations to the investment committee and the board, as required –Acts as the senior transaction team member in documentation and deal closing and has a lead role in all aspects of the investment process –Supports the development of infrastructure investment strategies based on the results of the team’s due diligence and analysis –Prepares strategy materials on infrastructure investments for senior leadership and investment committee as well as existing and potential clients –Develops direct reports through career planning, opportunities to learn, recognition and ongoing evaluation –Provides consistent and timely performance coaching, including effective behaviour-based feedback –Develops new or maintains existing relationships with clients, investment partners, advisers and other stakeholders; takes a lead role in client interactions and formal client presentations What you need: –8+ years of relevant experience in a) private equity, preferably with a focus on infrastructure or infrastructure-adjacent sectors; b) infrastructure-related investment banking, transaction services, or consulting; or c) commercial roles in a relevant industry (i.e. renewable energy, transportation, electric vehicles, datacentres, cell towers, utilities, etc.). –Completion of a university degree with a strong academic record. –Completion of, or enrolment in, a professional designation (e.g. CFA, CPA) and/or MBA and/or fluency in multiple languages are each considered an asset. –Experience of working on successful deals (e.g. sourcing, analysis, due diligence, execution and monitoring); proven track record of successful infrastructure investments. –Demonstrated experience developing direct reports through career planning, opportunities to learn, recognition and ongoing evaluation. –Relationship management experience including primary responsibility for managing relationships with portfolio companies and other external stakeholders. –Well-developed qualitative and quantitative analytical skills, including financial modelling, valuation, and due diligence capabilities. –Exceptional oral and written communication skills, intellectual agility, client and time management skills. –Highly proficient in Excel with advanced abilities in Word and PowerPoint. –Ambitious self-starter and solid team player with a positive attitude. –The candidate must have a willingness to “roll up your sleeves” to get work done in an entrepreneurial environment. –Demonstrated ability to be resourceful and persistent in gathering and assessing information and to quickly assimilate knowledge. –Ability to travel internationally for management meetings, conferences and site visits. \#INDSJ \#CBREIM **Equal Employment Opportunity Statement:** CBRE is an equal opportunity employer who welcomes and encourages application from all persons regardless of race, creed, ancestry, national or ethnic origin, colour, age, religion, sex, sexual orientation, family status, gender identity or expression, disability or any other status or condition protected by applicable federal, provincial or territorial law. **Candidate Accommodations:** CBRE values the differences of all current and prospective employees and recognizes how every employee contributes to our company’s success.
