Provide oversight and leadership to the definition, implementation, maintenance and enforcement of data standards. **Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities** + Oversees the data governance process, including managing the cross-functional data councils. + Provides leadership regarding the change process for data, including controls, oversight, approval, communication and documentation. + Plays a critical role in understanding and communicating the downstream implications of data changes and works with the functional and IT leaders to identify optimal solutions. + Identifies and implements industry standards and best practices for data governance and management. + Ensures data integrity and quality and owns the data quality function including regular data audits and quality reporting. + Participates in the organization’s formal Software Development Life Cycle Process team. Perform other job-related duties as assigned. **Nature and Scope** + Problems are typically defined by higher level leadership. Problems are difficult. May set or change plans/goals within respective department or area. + May manage department via multiple layers of managers OR directly supervise a staff of professional individual contributors at the senior or technical advisor level. **Work Environment** + Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable. + Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles. + Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time. **Education and Experience** + Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline.
