JOB TITLE: Director, Content Licensing 

LOCATION: CDMX, Mexico

ABOUT THE ROLE & TEAM:

TelevisaUnivision is the leading Spanish-language media company in the world! We’re investing in our content, our people, and our properties, which span digital, streaming, social, audio, linear and live events. 

The TelevisaUnivision Content Licensing team is looking for a Sr. Director, Sales to join our team in CDMX, Mexico. The position will be responsible for overseeing all content sales activities across Latin America, managing both output and volume deals as well as ad-hoc licensing agreements. 

This role will lead commercial negotiations and ensure the successful distribution of one of the most important Spanish-language content catalogs. The Sr. Director will work closely with internal teams, including Programming, Strategy, Legal, and Operations, to align sales objectives with broader business goals, and will report directly to the SVP of Content Licensing. 

The role includes managing strategic relationships with key clients and partners, conducting business travel throughout the region, and representing the company at major international content markets and industry events.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the Latin American media landscape, deep industry relationships, and a proven track record in driving revenue growth through complex content licensing agreements.

YOUR DAY-DAY: (aka Responsibilities):

Lead and oversee all content licensing sales efforts across Latin America, including both long-term output/volume agreements and one-off (ad-hoc) dealsManage and grow strategic relationships with key client and partners in the regionNegotiate and close complex licensing agreements across multiple platforms, maximizing content value and revenue.Supervise deal execution and lifecycle in coordination with Legal, Operations, and FinanceCollaborate closely with internal teams including Programming, Strategy, Marketing, to align on priorities and ensure successful deal deliveryMonitor market trends, client needs, and competitive activity to identify new business opportunitiesRepresent the company at industry trade events, international markets and client meetings throughout Latin America.Provide strategic input to the SVP of Content Licensing and contribute to regional forecasting, budget planning, and reportingOversee and guide a team of two regional sales coordinators who manage daily client interactions

YOU HAVE: (Qualifications, Required Skills & Experience):

10+ years of experience in content licensing, media distribution, or international sales, within the Latin American marketStrong track record of negotiating and closing complex multi-platform content deals (Output, Volume, etc.)Deep understanding of the Latin American media landscape, including key broadcasters, pay TV operators, and digital platformsProven ability to develop and maintain senior-level client relationships across diverse marketsExcellent commercial, analytical, and strategic thinking skillsFluent in English and Spanish (spoken and written); Portuguese is a plusStrong project management and organizational abilities, with attention to detail and executionAbility and willingness to travel internationally for business and industry events.Experience working cross-functionally with legal, operations, programming, and finance teams.Bachelor’s degree in business, Media, Communications, or related field; Master’s degree is a plusPassion for Spanish-language content and entertainment

DESIRED: Qualifications, Required Skills & Experience):

Prior experience managing output/volume deals for scripted content such as telenovelas, series, or filmsEstablished relationships with top-tier media clients and buyers in Latin AmericaExperience representing companies at international content markets (e.g., MIPCOM, LA Screenings, Content Americas, etc.)Familiarity with evolving digital business models (AVOD, SVOD, FAST, TVOD) and their licensing frameworksComfort working in a fast-paced, matrixed environment with shifting priorities
