Title and Summary

Director, Citizen Development & Finance Solutioning

The Director of Citizen Development & Finance Solutioning will drive innovation and efficiency in Finance through technology-enabled solutions and citizen development programs while serving as the central point of contact for Finance solutioning and intake management. This role will oversee solution intake, alignment with business objectives, ROI analysis, and routing requests to appropriate execution teams (PMO, Automation, Citizen Development). The Director will ensure program success by providing governance, tools, training, and standards for citizen-led innovation, while also driving strategic solutioning for Finance initiatives. Additionally, this leader will translate functional strategy into actionable tools and methodologies, track program performance, and manage a high-performing team.
Role & Responsibilities:
Program Leadership
•\tEstablish and govern the Citizen Developer program across the organization.
•\tDefine program strategy, standards, and best practices for citizen-led development.
•\tDrive adoption and engagement through communication, training, and enablement initiatives.
Finance Solutioning & Intake Management
•\tAct as the central point of contact for Finance solution requests.
•\tManage intake of Finance-related automation and solutioning requests.
•\tValidate alignment with Finance business needs and organizational priorities.
Solution Intake & Alignment
•\tOversee intake of requests for automation and citizen-led solutions across functions.
•\tEnsure compliance with governance and security standards.
ROI Analysis & Prioritization
•\tPerform cost-benefit analysis for proposed solutions.
•\tPrioritize initiatives based on impact, feasibility, and strategic alignment.
Routing & Execution
•\tRoute and manage requests to appropriate execution teams (PMO, Automation, Citizen Development).
•\tCollaborate with stakeholders to ensure timely and successful delivery.
Delivery & Enablement
•\tProvide tools, training, and frameworks for citizen developers.
•\tEstablish governance to maintain quality, security, and scalability of solutions.
•\tMonitor program performance and continuously improve processes.
Strategic Leadership & Team Management
•\tTranslate functional strategic vision into tools, methodologies, and software solutions.
•\tIdentify and execute opportunities for process improvement and innovation.
•\tTrack program performance, including adherence to timelines, budgets, customer satisfaction, and impact.
•\tFormally supervise and coach a large team
•\tEnsure compliance with goal-setting and performance appraisal processes.
•\tIdentify and develop top talent within the team
Qualifications:
•\tBachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Technology, or related field; Master’s preferred.
•\t10+ years of experience in technology, automation, or program management.
•\tProven experience in leading enterprise-wide programs and governance frameworks.
•\tStrong understanding of low-code/no-code platforms and citizen development concepts.
•\tDemonstrated ability to lead large teams and develop talent.
•\tExcellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Skills:
•\tExperience with Finance processes and solutioning.
•\tKnowledge of automation technologies (RPA, workflow tools).
•\tFamiliarity with PMO processes and solution delivery methodologies.
•\tAbility to drive cultural change and foster innovation.
