Responsibilities and Impact:
Drive global business development strategy for S&P Global Ratings' digital finance initiatives, taking an enterprise perspective to connect DeFi and digital asset opportunities with our broader organizational vision Build and execute complex sales processes for credit ratings and stability assessments across digital bonds, tokenized real-world assets, and stablecoins, leveraging diverse stakeholder perspectives to shape sustainable solutions Establish thought leadership and market influence by representing S&P Global Ratings at industry conferences and through digital media, acting as a recognized expert who shapes market understanding of credit risk in digital finance Cultivate strategic relationships across both traditional finance (TradFi) and decentralized finance (DeFi) ecosystems, including issuers, institutional investors, and protocol developers, operating with autonomy while maintaining strategic alignment Analyze emerging market trends and regulatory developments, translating complex digital finance concepts into actionable business strategies that consider multiple scenarios and their enterprise implications Coach and develop the Commercial team's digital finance capabilities, empowering others to maximize their performance in this specialized market segment
Compensation/Benefits Information: (Only applicable to U.S. candidates)
The anticipated base salary range for this position is $124,200 to $220,000. The final base salary will depend on geographic location, experience level, skill set, training, licenses, and certifications.
What We're Looking For:
Basic Required Qualifications:
An S&P Global employee would have 8+ years of business development or sales experience in financial services, with demonstrated expertise in credit markets, structured products, or digital assets Deep understanding of digital finance ecosystems including blockchain technologies (such as Ethereum, Bitcoin, or Solana), DeFi protocols (such as Aave, Compound, or MakerDAO), and tokenization platforms Proven track record of building strategic relationships with institutional clients and driving revenue growth in complex B2B environments Strong analytical and communication skills with ability to articulate complex financial concepts across functions, levels, and cultures both internally and externally Global mindset with experience working across different markets, regulatory environments, and cultural contexts Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or related field from an accredited institution All employees are required to work from the office a minimum of 2 days per week. We require all candidates who reach the final stage of our interview process to attend at least one in-person interview, which is ordinarily at your nearest S&P Global Ratings office. This must be completed before we can proceed to an offer.
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with credit rating methodologies, risk assessment frameworks, or regulatory compliance in financial services Knowledge of cryptocurrency markets, stablecoin mechanisms, and decentralized finance protocols with understanding of their risk profiles Previous experience in fintech, digital asset management, or blockchain-focused financial services organizations Advanced degree (MBA, CFA, FRM) or professional certifications relevant to finance or digital assets
