Director, Automation Engineering - Simulation & Digital Twin
Position Summary...The Director, Automation Engineering - Simulation & Digital Twin is a senior leader within the Advanced Engineering organization, responsible for developing and scaling simulation and digital twin capabilities across end-to-end supply chain networks. This role leads a team of engineers and technical experts focused on leveraging simulation, AI, and machine learning to drive continuous improvement, optimize network performance, and enhance the associate work experience. The Director partners closely with supply chain operations, engineering and product leaders to understand their business problems and utilize simulation tools to drive actionable insights that improve efficiency, resilience, and day-to-day operations.

This is an onsite role based at our Home Office in Bentonville, Arkansas; we are not considering remote applicants, but a full relocation is available.

What you'll do...Lead the development and evolution of digital twins across supply chain networks, including fulfillment, transportation, and distributionDrive initiatives that use simulation insights to improve associate work experience, safety, productivity, and operational usabilityBuild, mentor, and manage a high-performing team of technical expertsPartner with supply chain, operations, data science, and product teams to align digital twin capabilities with business prioritiesLeverage simulation models with AI/ML capabilities to enable continuous learning, optimization, and predictive decision-makingEstablish standards, governance, and best practices for scalable, reusable simulation and digital twin solutionsTranslate complex system behavior and analytics into clear recommendations for executive and operational leadersIdentify and evaluate emerging technologies to enhance modeling fidelity, speed, and real-world impact
What You’ll Bring... Experience in simulation, modeling, digital twin, or advanced engineering domains; familiarity with simulation, optimization, and analytics platforms a plusProven experience leading technical teams and delivering large-scale, complex initiativesStrong understanding of supply chain systems, network modeling, and optimizationExperience collaborating with data science and AI/ML teams to drive measurable outcomesHands-on experience building or scaling digital twins in supply chain or logistics environmentsStrong executive communication and stakeholder influence skillsPassion for designing solutions that meaningfully improve the associate and operator experience

The annual salary range for this position is $130,000.00 - $260,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :

Option 1: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field and 5 years’ experience in Engineering, supply chain, or a related area. Option 2: 7
years’ experience in Engineering, supply chain, or a related area.
3 years’ supervisory experience.
