**Job Title: Directional Drill Operator** **Job Description** We are seeking a skilled Directional Drill Operator to join our team and work on utility and commercial site construction projects. The ideal candidate should be capable of working independently from the first day without the need for additional training. **Responsibilities** + Assist the drill operator with setup and breakdown of drilling equipment. + Hand dig potholes to expose existing utilities before drilling. + Load and unload tools, materials, and equipment. + Maintain a clean and organized job site. + Operate hand and power tools as needed. + Mix and handle drilling fluids and materials. + Follow safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE at all times. + Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors. **Essential Skills** + Experience working on a crew completing drilling projects for over 4 years. + Ability to operate directional drill independently. + Good safety hygiene and knowledge of OSHA regulations. + Technical skills including MWD/LWD, Rotary Steerable Systems operation, Well planning software, Torque and drag analysis, Hydraulics optimization, and GeoSteering. + Physical stamina and endurance. + Strong problem-solving abilities. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + OSHA 10 certification. + Effective communication skills. + High attention to detail. **Why Work Here?** Our company offers a stable work environment with a large pipeline of projects lined up, including significant prevailing wage work. **Work Environment** The work environment consists of outdoor conditions, requiring work in various weather such as rain, snow, cold, heat, and wind. The team size ranges from 1-2 up to 10 members, with reporting to a foreman or project superintendent. The shift is Monday to Friday, with occasional Saturday work, from 6:30 am to 4:00 pm or later, and overtime ranging from 2-20 hours per week. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract position based out of Cohoes, New York. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr.
