What Your Day Looks Like (Responsibilities) As Direct Support Professional at Abound Health, you will apply your nursing skills in a supportive community setting while gaining experience that strengthens your clinical career: Community Integration and Client Empowerment + Build trusting, positive relationships and align individual needs with their goals. + Act as a passionate advocate, empowering individuals to advocate for themselves. + Identify opportunities for greater independence in work-related tasks. Patient Care & Nursing Support + Provide direct nursing care, including monitoring vital signs, mobility assistance, and personal care. + Administer medications accurately in accordance with NJ state regulations. + Perform basic nursing procedures such as injections and tube feedings (if applicable). Care Coordination & Advocacy + Participate in the development and implementation of Individualized Support Plans (ISPs). + Advocate for individuals and collaborate with families, care teams, and community resources. Clinical Documentation + Complete timely, accurate documentation of care, treatments, and medication administration—an essential skill in every nursing role. Behavioral & Safety Support + Implement positive behavior support strategies. + Utilize de-escalation techniques to maintain a safe, supportive environment. What You Bring (Qualifications) + Active New Jersey RN License (required). + A passion for supporting individuals with I/DD. + Strong communication, professionalism, and time-management skills. + A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. + Ability to pass background checks per NJ regulations.
