The DSP is responsible for safely accompanying participants to community resources, bathing, feeding, toileting, laundry, and other self-care responsibilities. The position includes completing progress notes and making appropriate entries in the logbook
Shift Worked: 10pm - 8am/8pm - 8am Weekly Hours: 32-40 FLSA Status: Non Exempt Pay range: $19.32 - $19.32(Direct Support Professional) POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Assist participant with needs identified in the Individualized Life Plan such as, self-care, toileting, showering, tooth brushing, grooming, dressing and ensure proper hygiene
Distribute and collect linen for laundry service in accordance with procedure.
Assist participant in attaining skills needed for daily living and socialization according to their abilities
Safely accompany participant to community resources (stores, places of worship, recreation, and health facilities, etc.)
Assist with meal preparation and serving of meals.
Responsible for cleaning of serving utensils and pots.
Complete Incident Reports as appropriate.
Complete room checks as needed.
Update logbook to foster greater and meaningful communication across shifts as needed.
Demonstrate the ability to work as part of a team,
Interact with clients to promote a friendly supportive but professional atmosphere,
All other duties as assigned by the Shift Supervisor or other supervisory staff.
Attending staff meetings and in-service training.
Participate in meetings as requested.
Other related tasks that may be assigned
Job Requirements:
High School Diploma or Equivalency with two years of experience preferred
Verbal and written communication skills essential to perform function of position.
Ability to speak/write English
SCIP-R Certification/Training
CPR/First Aid
