Materials Program Manager in Electronics Manufacturing in Richardson, TX
PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leader in the electronics manufacturing industry to identify a strategic and analytical Materials Program Manager to support high-impact pricing and materials initiatives. This is a DIRECT hire role with and ideal for a data-driven professional who thrives at the intersection of cost, supply chain, and customer strategy.
Role Overview
The Materials Program Manager plays a critical role in driving competitive material pricing strategies that support new business wins and long-term customer success. Leveraging technology, analytics, and cross-functional collaboration, this role ensures precise cost estimating, supplier alignment, and competitive Bills of Material. Your work will directly influence profitability, pricing accuracy, and strategic decision-making across global customer programs.
Key Responsibilities
Lead material pricing projects aligned with company and customer requirements
Manage customer pricing proposals and maintain a historical database of material quotes
Develop accurate cost estimates using historical data and part-level cost modeling
Prepare material pricing for new business opportunities, including BOM generation, cost analysis, supplier negotiations, and internal presentations
Coordinate and manage material cost activities for assigned customers and/or manufacturing sites
Update material pricing databases and analyze Bills of Material to ensure market competitiveness
Collaborate closely with Commodity Management, Purchasing, Sourcing, Engineering, Finance, and Customer-focused teams
Negotiate with suppliers during RFI, RFQ, and RFP processes
Participate in customer kick-off meetings and engage with global customer teams and regional counterparts
Audit and analyze quarterly cost variances and report on commitment and performance metrics
Consolidate, analyze, and report large volumes of pricing and cost data to support business decisions
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Five or more years of relevant experience in materials, pricing, supply chain, or cost analysis
Strong working knowledge of purchasing practices and procedures
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong overall systems skills (MS Office, Access)
Ability to analyze and manipulate large datasets with accuracy and attention to detail
Strong communication, organization, negotiation, and presentation skills
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting pricing or materials strategy within electronics manufacturing or a related industry
Familiarity with market conditions, industry pricing trends, and supply/demand dynamics
Knowledge of customer-specific requirements and cost drivers
Experience with Visual Basic or advanced Excel automation
Work Environment
This role is based in a professional office environment and involves extended periods of computer use, data analysis, and detailed visual concentration.
