Direct Placement Title or Role: Director of Procurement Compensation: $300,000 + Bonus Location: Hybrid) Company Description: Our Client is an industrial-scale data center construction and operations company. They allocate data center opportunities between bitcoin mining and other high performance computing services, such as AI. They continue to develop there pipeline of power capacity at high-quality data center sites, either for bitcoin mining or HPC. Position Description: Our client is seeking a Director of Procurement to lead enterprise-wide sourcing, supplier strategy, and contract execution across a rapidly expanding portfolio of hyperscale data center construction and infrastructure projects. This role is responsible for the end-to-end procurement function, managing supplier relationships, commodity strategies, contract negotiation, vendor onboarding, and procurement governance. The ideal candidate will ensure procurement timelines align with project timelines to enable speed, mitigate risk, and scale effectively. Responsibilities: + Procurement Strategy & Leadership + Define and execute enterprise procurement strategy aligned with development and delivery goals. + Build and lead a high-performing procurement team managing supplier categories, commodity groups, and contract portfolios. + Establish procurement as a strategic partner to Development, PMO, Engineering, and Finance. + Sourcing & Supplier Management + Lead sourcing strategies for critical commodities including electrical equipment, mechanical systems, and construction services. + Develop and maintain preferred supplier relationships and manage supplier performance. + Contracting & Commercial Management + Lead negotiation and execution of master supply agreements and project-specific contracts. + Ensure contracts allocate risk appropriately and support fast-track execution. + Coordinate with Legal, PMO, and Finance on contract strategy. + Vendor Onboarding & Governance + Establish and maintain vendor onboarding processes including qualification and compliance checks. + Ensure consistent vendor governance and maintain approved vendor lists. + Cross-Functional Integration + Partner with Project Managers, Engineering, Cost Engineering, and Finance to align procurement schedules with project milestones. + Support issue resolution related to supplier delays and quality issues. + Risk Management & Market Intelligence + Monitor supply chain risks and develop mitigation strategies such as dual sourcing and strategic stocking. + Provide leadership with market insights impacting delivery and cost. Qualifications: (REMOVE before posting not more than 8) + 15+ years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, and supply chain leadership. + Experience supporting construction, infrastructure, and industrial projects. + Demonstrated success managing high-value, long-lead commodities and complex supplier negotiations. + Strong commercial acumen and contract experience. + Proven ability to lead lean teams in fast-growth environments. + Direct experience with data center construction, mission-critical infrastructure, or HPC, AI, or crypto projects is preferred. + Familiarity with international sourcing and logistics is advantageous. Education & Certifications: + Bachelor's degree or advanced degree in a relevant field preferred.
