Position Summary:

Directs and facilitates the 24/7 patient access operations of the organization’s acute care facilities. In a customer service oriented manner, ensures that the processes of patient registration / admissions, insurance verification, pre-certification/authorization and point of service collections are completed timely and accurately, while meeting all regulatory requirements. In addition, is responsible for directing cashier functions as well as the functions of the hospital’s admitting offices.

Schedule: Full-time, Traditional day shift, (M-F), 8 Hours/Day,

Key Responsibilities:

Ensures all organizational patient access / registration, admitting and cashiering functions are completed timely, accurately and in a customer service oriented manner while in accordance with organizational policies/procedures as well as with all local, state and federal rules and regulations.

Facilitates department’s activities while coordinating with other organizational departments, customers, physician’s offices, third party payers and outside agencies as required ensuring efficient patient registrations/admissions that result in accurately and timely billing.

Works closely with the organization’s Care Management and Central Billing offices to ensure patient registration / admission functions result in accurate billing.

Develops and maintains specific objectives and performance standards for each area of responsibility.

Monitors organizational performance by utilizing quantitative productivity measures.

Monitors departmental performance by utilizing quantitative productivity measures.

Maintain appropriate internal safeguards over cash collection for internal and external customers.

Direct activities related to recruitment of personnel, training, scheduling, performance evaluation, disciplinary actions and termination of personnel, ensuring compliance with organizational policies.

Evaluate standard of performance of direct reporting personnel. Review and approve performance appraisals of personnel assigned to subordinate personnel.

Conduct Monthly staff meetings to facilitate communication, inform staff of changes and provide training/education.

Prepare departmental operating budget and monitors compliance. Approves all departmental expenses.

Ensures all customer complaints are followed up on timely and are brought to resolution.

Performs special projects as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

BA degree and accreditation as admitting manager preferred.

3-5 years of supervisory experience in a hospital admitting setting preferred

Outstanding organization and communication skills

Strong analytical skills and experience with automated systems.


Required Licensure/Certification Skills:

• EPIC certification preferred

$100,000.00 - $130,000.00

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
