Digital Marketing Executive

**What's the role?**
Reporting to the Head of Marketing, this role will be responsible for executing performance marketing campaigns for news.com.au Checkout, while providing general marketing support across the broader Free News and Lifestyle portfolio. This is a hands-on, detail-oriented role focused on delivering campaigns, optimising performance, and hitting clear KPIs.
The role offers the opportunity to develop end-to-end campaign management experience. From planning, setup, and launch through to optimisation, reporting and post-campaign analysis, while gaining exposure across multiple well-known news and lifestyle brands in a fast-paced media environment.
This is a full-time position offered on a 12 month Max Term contract.
**Key Responsibilities:**
Performance Marketing - news.com.au Checkout
+ Execute and manage performance marketing campaigns across paid digital channels (Meta, Google Ads).
+ Support campaign setup, trafficking, QA, and optimisation to ensure campaigns hit KPIs (traffic, engagement, conversion).
+ Monitor campaigns daily, implementing ongoing optimisation of creative, audiences, budgets and formats.
Portfolio Marketing Support & Operations
+ Partner with internal teams and agency partners to shape and deliver creative for seasonal marketing campaigns, managing asset rollout to ensure timely execution.
+ Provide general marketing support across the wider Free News and Lifestyleportfolio.
+ Pull together post-campaign reports and insights across brands and channels.
+ Develop and maintain existing reporting dashboards and monthly performance reports in addition to building new reporting frameworks, ensuring insights are accurate, actionable and timely
Planning, Organisation & Delivery
+ Manage campaign timelines and ensure all activity is delivered accurately and on schedule.
+ Coordinate with internal teams and agencies to ensure assets, copy, tracking and approvals are in place prior to launch.
+ Maintain a high standard of attention to detail across all campaign setups, changes and reporting.
Testing & Optimisation
+ Support structured A/B testing across creative, formats, audiences and messaging.
+ Apply learnings consistently to improve performance over time.
+ Use data and insights to inform practical, performance-led optimisation decisions.
Budget & KPI Management
+ Track spend and performance against daily, weekly and monthly targets.
+ Support accurate budget pacing to ensure spend aligns with agreed plans.
+ Focus on delivering outcomes against clearly defined KPIs.
Collaboration & Team Fit
+ Work closely with editorial, commercial, audience and product teams to support campaign delivery and reporting.
+ Be a proactive, reliable team player who thrives in a fast-paced, performance-focused environment.
**Who are you?**
+ Experience executing paid digital campaigns and working with data analytics (Meta, Google Ads).
+ Comfortable working across multiple brands and campaigns simultaneously.
+ Strong reporting, documentation, and organisational skills.
+ Experience with marketing platforms: Adobe Analytics, Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
+ Project management familiarity: Monday.com, Jira.
+ Ideally, 1–2 years’ experience in digital marketing or performance marketing roles.
+ Tertiary qualification in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related discipline preferred.
+ Thrives in a fast-paced environment and comfortable managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
+ Enjoys working with data, metrics and optimisation to hit KPIs.
