Diesel Technician
Diesel Technician – $30–$35/HR – Full-Time – 1st Shift

Location: Omaha, NE

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7AM–5PM (Occasional Saturdays)

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Diesel Technician to join a leading construction company’s fleet maintenance team. This is a full-time, shop-based role (90% in-shop) performing diagnostics, troubleshooting, and major repairs on a wide range of equipment, including trailers, side dumps, heavy equipment, and pickups.

Pay ranges from $30–$35 per hour based on experience.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues on fleet vehicles and heavy equipmentPerform major repairs and preventive maintenance on:TrailersSide dumpsHeavy equipmentPickups and other fleet vehiclesUtilize a diesel laptop to read, analyze, and interpret diagnostic software across multiple OEMsRepair and maintain engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, brakes, and electrical systemsComplete work with high-quality standards, accuracy, and a focus on safetyDocument repairs, findings, and parts usedQualificationsMinimum Requirements:5+ years of diesel experience (equipment + vehicles)Experience in diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairProficiency using diesel laptops and OEM softwareKnowledge of electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systemsExperience with preventive maintenance and major mechanical workAbility to work independently and as part of a teamCommitment to safety and high-quality workmanshipPreferred:Class A CDL with air brake + manual endorsementsExperience with a variety of construction and fleet equipmentAdditional Requirements:Must provide your own toolsMust be able to lift/move heavy components as neededWhy Work Here?

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Omaha, NE.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
