**Job Description** As a Diesel Technician, you will be the primary source for maintaining a fleet of trucks in the facility, ensuring they are operational and capable of making timely deliveries. Your expertise will help keep the fleet running smoothly, performing essential maintenance and repairs. This is a very independent position, so a candidate who is a self-starter is highly preferred. **Pay is based on experience, but can get up to the mid 30s (/hr).** **Responsibilities** + Perform routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment and machinery. + Replace brake shoes/pads and leaking wheel seals. + Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions. + Use diagnostic software to perform tests on faulty systems on trucks. + Utilize hand tools, such as screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, pressure gauges, and precision instruments, as well as power tools like pneumatic wrenches, lathes, welding equipment, or jacks and hoists. + Look up issues on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports and accurately correct issues to DOT standards. + Have knowledge of air brake systems. + Rewire ignition systems, lights, and instrument panels. + Specialize in repairing and maintaining parts of the engine, such as fuel injection systems and electrical systems. + Perform Annual DOT inspections. + Align front ends and suspension systems. + Diagnose and repair vehicle heating and cooling systems. + Adjust or repair computer-controlled exhaust emissions devices. + Complete inventory reports monthly to ensure accurate parts on hand. + Log billable time on a maintenance software program for tracking. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + 2+ years of experience in diesel or fleet maintenance or mechanical knowledge. + Class A CDL is preferred but not required; willingness to obtain if not currently held. + Potential for higher pay if If already Class A CDL certified! **Work Environment** Work involves using various diagnostic software and tools in a facility equipped for truck maintenance and repairs.
