Job Description
Join our team as a Trailer Mechanic, where you will be responsible for performing preventive maintenance and repairs on fuel tanker trucks and trailers, including DOT inspections. This position focuses on maintaining the safety and efficiency of trailers, excluding engine or transmission work beyond preventive maintenance.
ResponsibilitiesConduct preventive maintenance and repairs on fuel tanker trucks and trailers.Perform DOT inspections of trucks and tanker trailers.Prepare repair orders in accordance with company policy.Work effectively and safely within the shop area and during road calls without supervision.Complete records in a timely manner in compliance with company rules and requirements.Ensure compliance with DOT regulations, federal, state, local, and company standards regarding personal safety, shop cleanliness, and waste disposal.Communicate effectively with team members as required.Carry out additional duties assigned by supervisors.Essential SkillsHigh School Education or equivalent.Possess or be willing to obtain ASE Brake certification within the first 180 days of employment.Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects.Self-starter with detail-oriented work habits.Meet qualification requirements as stipulated in Section 396.19 of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.Meet qualification requirements as stipulated in Section 396.25 for brake maintenance/repairs.Safely operate tractor/trailer unit within terminal premises.Technical knowledge in handling components such as air compressors, fuel pumps, hubs, wheels, and springs.Additional Skills & QualificationsTanker trailer experience highly preferred (flatbed trailer experience considered).Experience with DOT 406, 407, 412 Tanker/cargo tanker highly preferred.ASE Brake certification highly preferred (must be willing to obtain).Cargo tank inspection certification is a plus.Basic mechanic skills and truck preventive maintenance.CDL class A is a plus but not required.Why Work Here?

Work Environment
Work in a small 2-bay shop with concrete floors, where you must be able to stand for extended periods. The work involves sometimes uneven and slippery surfaces, requiring physical dexterity and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $58240.00/yr.
