Hours: 45–55 hours per week, with rotating night on-call shifts and potential for overtime
Position SummaryWe are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to perform diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance on heavy construction equipment and on-highway trucks. This role is critical to minimizing equipment downtime and ensuring safe, efficient operations at our outdoor asphalt facility.
Key ResponsibilitiesFollow all safety protocols and use appropriate tools and equipmentDiagnose and repair various types of heavy machinery and vehicles, including diesel trucks, trailers, ready mix trucks, rollers, pavers, loaders, backhoes, and skid steersConduct routine maintenance such as cleaning, lubricating, and inspecting equipmentDismantle and reassemble machinery using hoists and hand toolsOperate and inspect equipment to identify mechanical issuesOverhaul and test machines to ensure optimal performanceReplace or repair worn or damaged partsTroubleshoot and rewire electrical systemsTest mechanical systems post-repair to verify compliance with manufacturer standardsMaintain inventory and order parts as neededComplete all required documentation including work orders, time cards, and inspection logsRespond to service calls and perform roadside repairsPerform other duties as assignedRequired Skills and ExperienceMinimum 5 years of experience in heavy equipment or truck maintenanceStrong troubleshooting skills across mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systemsFamiliarity with diagnostic software and laptop-based toolsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamMust possess or be able to obtain necessary tools for the roleCapable of lifting up to 75 pounds and performing physically demanding tasksComfortable working various schedules including overtime, weekends, and shift workEffective verbal and written communication skillsMust pass a pre-employment physical and drug screeningPreferred SkillsWelding and fabrication experienceFleet and trailer repair knowledgePreventive maintenance expertiseExperience with diesel engines and hydraulic systemsWhy Join Us

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $33.75/hr.
