**Job Title: Diesel Mechanic** Job Description We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to expertly repair and troubleshoot various equipment including mobile cranes, forklifts, generators, diesel welders, diesel air compressors, hydraulic hoists, and electric air compressors. The ideal candidate will complete preventive maintenance schedules, install component and part upgrades, and execute winterization procedures on products. You will also troubleshoot breakdowns and maintain supplies in the tool shop. Responsibilities + Correct deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts, or systems such as power and drive trains, electrical, fuel, emission, hydraulics, adjusting and alignments including bearing loads, gear tooth contact, valve mechanisms, governors, oil systems, control linkages, clutches, and traction units. + Observe the functioning of installed equipment or systems to determine hazards and the need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement. + Disassemble and repair defective equipment or systems. + Load, transport, and unload materials, tools, equipment, and supplies. + Maintain tools and equipment in optimal condition. + Complete work orders to document repairs to equipment. + Familiarize with procedures such as Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO). + After being hired directly, be comfortable traveling to various project construction sites in the US to troubleshoot and repair equipment and perform preventive maintenance. Essential Skills + Experience in diesel mechanics, troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance. + Proficiency in working with diesel, gas, and electrically driven equipment. + Comfortable traveling 40% of the time and working in outdoor environments. + 2-5 years of diesel mechanical experience required. As the business expands, employees work both indoors and outdoors due to the large size of equipment and materials. Candidates should be comfortable working in varying temperatures and must wear steel-toed boots, a hard hat, and safety glasses. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bourbonnais, Illinois. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $30.00/hr.
